This is an outdated guide. Damage is added when capping with marines, capture it with scanning from the spacesuit instead.

The amount you can sell it for is based on the storage of the shipyard and will vary, and also changes from game version to game version.

Just did this now and only got 4,5 million for selling it straight away.

Another easy way if you're really broke is to do a data vault for some starting money to get a hand laser, then fish for lockboxes for components, find a pirate station to craft security decryptors and bypasses, then scan station to unlock station sabotage missions worth 400-500k just to go around and click on a consoles. Is it fast? not particularly. Is it worthwhile? Sure.

Also, crystal spawns much faster in the same system as the destroyer. Really no waiting between collections

Additional tip, if you want to keep the destroyer don't go out the way you came in, head directly south and stay above the mines, there is a jump gate to Atiya's Misfortune, you have to make one more jump to get out that way but Atiya's Misfortune isn't full of mines and comes out in Frontier Edge, also you get more money if you strip the ship down before you sell it.

I keep getting lost, could someone reply with the list of galaxies traveled through to get there? I get as far as True Site and cannot find the next gate, the only gate I found was on the highway and another to the Void.

goto your save files extract the file with WinRaR and edit it the file with Notepad++,
there are two variables you will need to change.
Search for the money value, copy the value.
edit the money then do a search for value.

Edit this values to match the money value.

Save the file, rename the file to +1.
No need to repack the file.
then load the edited game and enjoy..... 1000000Billion in 3 mins of work..

when flying to the ship i always get hostiles

Well, it was a while ago, and you did make this, I tried, got to the sector and got shot, ship blowed up, ejected and died in my suit. I'll give it another go though.

What I did was keep it and I mined for Crystals and in 30 minutes I made 15 million in crystals sales. I then I started main story-line and killed many large Xenons
with my shiny new battleship then purchased a bunch of mining ships to mine Nividium :) in 2 hours or so I have around 30 million.

I would normally keep that ship and start odd jobs. If I get into too much trouble, I can put them into that ships gun range and it is instant kill. Normally, it works great with small fighters. But once you get it fully out fitted, it will do pretty good for a while. Plus there are other ships to capture too.

Thanks for bthis, however I tried to purchase a marine and when I got back in my ship the upgrade/repair ship menu told me "currently edited ship has not been added to the shopping list" how do I fix this ?

Wish there was a heavy frigate class. Really stinks to go from something like a Katana to the next step being a destroyer.

Still present after ToA was released, though I used it in an argon vs hop mission to destroy a station and gain 14 mil.

I don't know why but I laughed so hard when I saw this. Great job! I can imagine the developers watching this and shrugging, looking at each other then saying "there is always some A-hole out there..."

I've been playing after CoH and 4.0 and is it just me or they severely nerfed the xenon? Now almost every time the Ks get destroyed easily, and not only that the xenon just sends some small fighters and doesn't seem to be as aggressive as it was with expansion. Maybe I'm wrong

I could only sell it a a shipyard not a warf for 8.6 mill. playing on 4.0 idk but it took me awhile to figure this out maybe this will help someone else

After trying multiple times having the pilot fly the ship as well as myself to a warf and failing. I found that the player must first take ownership by sending a marine and then leave the system before telling the ship to go to a wharf. As soon as the player leaves the system and enters the next, the ship can be ordered to go. And though it takes a while, it will get there unscaved.
HINT: Don't ever selll a ship prior to stripping it and selling the mods first. The ship will sell for nearly 6 milliion. Stripping it first and selling it later will net one nearly 8 million. A bit more depending on which wharf.

how long... do you have to have played this game... to know this ship location by default? and where are your tutorials about the game?

Kinda still works the same, 1) Sell at shipyard and not wharf 2) as my Marine claims the ship there are explosions and the ship hull takes on 30% damage, so effectively you sell it for 5.7mil credits.
