I agree it make no sense when a scene where she walked away he looked completely smitten. Why would he need to act if she wasn't there and nobody would see him? That's what bugged me. I get he was supposed to be the good guy at first but they need to cut that scene if he was going to be the bad guy.

I think that trolles gave ice powers to Elsa and when Hans found out that Elsa has magic powers he though that Elsa is evil and when he saw Anna defending Elsa he though that Anna was a fake and he was against them. He wanted to kill both sisters, but when he found out that Anna's heart is frozen and that love melts the ice in the heart, he though that he will leave Anna because she will die anyway and that the only problem is Elsa. I think that's logic.
