Snow, it was a wonderful story about the christmas tree, and so sweet to see just how happy you were telling the story.
As a european and a christmas tree lover I enjoyed every moment ❤
Thank you, dear ones.
💕Hi guys. Oh my beeeeeautiful Snow! The Van deco is festive and the Christmas tree ball is perfect.🎄👍👍 G looks so stylish sport'n that coat! Another magical visit. Great job guys 🤗. Stay well and safe travel.💕
ОтветитьVery very interesting. My grandfather was born in Frankfurt but lived in this city during his childhood. My grandmother lived in Strassburg. When they married, a couple years after WWI, they migrated to Brazil. I didn’t go to Obernai but I visited both, Frankfurt and Strassburg, some time ago.
ОтветитьI love the joy you share, Cheers from Melbourne, Australia
ОтветитьI like your sharing what you learned about Christmas trees. My grandparents and parents had live trees with lovely candleholders with real candles and we never had a fire. Of course you get a fresh tree, never leave unattended and use sparingly. I recall our tree used to only go up on the 24th and maybe the candles were only lit on that day. Not sure. I know someone that ships candles from Europe every year so he can do a traditional Christmas tree with real candles. Apparently it is still done in many/some homes in Europe.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing the story of the Christmas Tree! 🎄 The tradition of bringing evergreens such as pine, holly and ivy indoors goes back to pagan /druid times as evergreens symbolize everlasting life. As late as 1840 apparently, most Americans saw the Christmas Tree as a pagan symbol! Fascinating 😊
Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьSorry Snow but this is not the origins of the first Christmas Tree. The first Christmas Trees decorated with Apples is in 1415 in Frieburg in Germany.
ОтветитьVery cute decorations 😊👍 Merry Christmas 🎄
ОтветитьAm binging all your videos. Just watched the very first one!
ОтветитьMERRY CHRISTMAS,,,LOVE THE HISTORY OF THE TREE.
ОтветитьHow beautiful! It looks like a winter wonderland
Love your story of Christmas trees.🎄
I’ve been following you since lockdown in Mexico - I’m in the U.K. we stopped in the campground in Obernai a few years ago on our way home from Italy. It’s a beautiful place and I’m still getting my head round you being in Europe! Happy Christmas you.
ОтветитьWhat a fascinating history. Merry Christmas, Snow & Curt and blessings for your adventures in the New Year! I’m excited to follow along on your journey. Oh, and keep warm!!

Be safe,

Nutella - made from palm oil. Responsible for the destruction of rain forrests around the world. Please know that when you eat it or buy it. I have always believed that the Christmas tree began in Germany. Thank you for the correction! Love you guys. Merry Christmas! I pray it is magical!
Ответить👍🤩💝Fantastic Christmas videos!!! The van looks very festive. You guys look great. Terrific editing as usual. I know it’s a lot of work. I truly appreciate you guys sharing your journey.🙏💝
ОтветитьThank you so so so much for sharing these Christmas adventures. It has made my day for the last few days like a little advent calendar. Hope you and the kitties have a wonderful Christmas 🎄 thank you again!!
ОтветитьSo if putting strings of lights on the tree wasn’t a thing until 1960, that makes me wonder if it was the same in the US - will have to look back at the old slides of when I was 5 and before. if you’re still in Alsace, you should go to the little medieval village of Eguisheim, just south of Colmar. It felt like entering a storybook - built in three little circles around a central plaza. I will never forget it.
I also won’t forget the eclair that melted in my mouth and disappeared!…joyeux Noel !
FYI When you reach the Normandie area there is a neat little campground where you can rent a two bedroom cabin for 350 usd a week. Thought I'd let you know in case the van is in need of some maintenance its a good place to stay. Thank you so much for taking us along on your adventures. As I've said 1000 times, I love Europe and Love you guys! Merry Christmas!!
ОтветитьI Love your Christmas village videos! So festive and I want some of that French onion soup, looks so yummy! I've only seen the German Christmas markets so this is so magical. I didn't know about the first Christmas trees, so interesting. Thanks, you two!
ОтветитьI no longer believe in Constantinian churches and their man made changes.
Learning Biblical history it’s not what Jesus or the Disciples taught. Not even close!
Not only did Romans kill Yeshua but Constantine changed and made his Antisemitic religion and forced church changes.
It’s all written in history and if you study history you learn the truth!
Unfortunately, trees are idolatry and no different than the making of the golden calf to worship God.
It’s one thing to go to man made professed church and learn what is taught ABOUT God and another to actually study his word to KNOW God and learn as it was meant to be known.
Those who have the eyes to see and ears to hear dig to learn the truth. 🙏🏻
The meow carole was a hit around here!
ОтветитьI love your decorations! Especially your Christmas tree!
ОтветитьGracias❤
ОтветитьLove the video, I love vacationing in Paris.
ОтветитьDecorated holiday trees originated in Babylon to celebrate the return of the sun. Romans later included them in Saturnalia, again celebrating the return of the sun (days got longer.). Im not sure when Saturnalia morphed into Christmas, no doubt the Catholic church initiated it. So this might well be where it happened first, so technically the first *Christmas Tree*. But the tradition of decorating a tree for the holiday at this time of year goes all the way back yo Babylon.
ОтветитьWOW! Beautiful to see the way other countries celebrate the season! Thankyou for this tour of France!
ОтветитьVery special. Puts me in a holiday mood.
ОтветитьMerry Christmas to you both.
