0.001% of 500,000 is 5,, do only 5 students are selected for 50 universities,,,? But yeah these exams sucks especially those who test you on everything...

I live in India and prepare for the JEE advanced. Here, it is more like if you get a good score, well done, but if you didn't, you have a chance to work hard and get a very nice profile irrespective of your department or college and thus land a good job.
But after hearing about the Korean SAT, I am thinking that it actually is harder in the long run than JEE because in India, Samsung KOREA, hires people based on their JEE score! Whereas no other company gives a damn about it. I can only imagine what the situation would be like in Korea, where there is this test and then supposedly no chance in college except to get your degree! This is beyond pressuring, I guess.

It's interesting how the cut-offs for Korean citizens with international qualifications (such as the IB) seem to be significantly lower. Someone I know got 36/45 on the IB (not a bad score, but not excellent either) and managed to get into Yonsei University.. Whereas here in Australia, an Australian citizen with an international qualification would still be subject to the same cut-offs as students with local qualifications

we, as an Turkish citizen, have a very similar way in terms of university entrance exam, so it is just a waste of time prepersing for many years to get a degree which is nothing but a paper, government should take immediate measures to solve this problem

As a Korean-American, I am just grateful that I live in the United States because all I have to do is just take the SAT or the ACT to go into college and you can take them an infinite amount of times.

I feel for you. I have to pass a test called the NBCOT, a 5 hour test with an entrance exam cost of over 500.00$ to work the job that I want.

This is screwed up. Humans aren't machines. Basing someone's entire future from a test result is stupid. The world has many problems to deal with, and drilling students to be perfect students is pointless if they're useless in the workforce. And besides, the real work and learning happens at work! Stop wasting time studying for tests and let these students get their feet wet!

This is only an exam inorder to get into college, imagine their board examinations🤯

I feel so bad for these people, for going through such high standards and too much pressure. I didn't even study for my college entrance exam but I got accepted. I did quite well in my interview though. Still, that is so less compared to the efforts of these students. They deserve so much more. May korean citizens rise together soon to break the stigma that's killing dreams and even lives, with that, their future generation won't have to have to go though the same pit.

Test like this should have gone long time…. Cause everyone have right to be educated higher … also come on reality non this will matter in work , the most important is hard work and relationship not grade

for me at least. Why not go to a low rank school and make it a high rank by hardwork and excellence?
