(The Lorax) The Once-ler - "Biggering" (Unofficial Music Video)

Dreamworks would’ve put this in had they made this movie.

Here’s how I would write the Once-ler:






The Once-ler is heavily influenced by his family to be greedy and as successful as possible. The Once-ler feels an intense need to be successful to the point it’s eventually consumes him and when he finally achieves that success, it proves to not be worth it. The Once-ler is completely oblivious to this and looses all care and respect he had for the environment he had when he was a kid. Who was once a kind and compassionate person became the epitome of greed. At the end of the movie the Once-ler still helps everyone to recover the environment, however it’s not because of a genuine concern and care for the environment like his younger self, rather it’s for selfish reasons as the Once-ler after all those years of living in isolation in the destroyed environment realized that in order to keep his Thneed business going he would need to replant the Truffula trees every time he cuts one down in order to make new Thneeds. Plus he also realized helping the environment would make him look good in propaganda. Oh, and I would have a plot twist that would reveal that Aloysius O’Hare is the Once-ler‘s son…

So what do you guy think of my interpretation of the Once-ler? Let me know about any problems you may have with it.

the irony of them instead wanting “how bad can i be” because it’d stick more with the audience is so thick that its actually hilarious

They probably removed it because it was too acurrate to real life

I bet the executives of Comcast (owner of Illumination) & Illumination were TRIGGERED by this song, this it was cut out.

And the Lorax being featured in various corporate commercials at the time, especially for a car, even if it's gas saving, just a corruption and commoditification of the Lorax, a bitter irony.

This was removed for 3 reasons.

1: to bigger (how ironic)

2: it was way too realistic and would be a bit scary for kids.

3: they didn’t want kids to think anti corporate when the movie was being made corporate

Turning the "There is a principal in nature" part into what it is in How Bad Can I Be is insane

This song goes so hard, no wonder they decided to remove it, there is no place for actual art in the corporate world.

Honestly although How bad can I be is more catchy, this song should have been in the movie as well because it's just better.

I am actually flabbergasted by how insane The Lorax could have been if it wasn't by the "main plot" of the seed and the infantilizating of the once-ler. This music proves it all.

Honestly I’ve heard someone talk about a theory that how bad can I be is the part of the story he told the kid while biggering is the actual story and actually what happened which kinda makes me wish we got a moment we’re the oncler got a flashback to what he actually did while this song played

See, I love both this and How Bad Can I Be. In my opinion, it would be great if they used both. Using How Bad Can I Be first, and then this one. It would fit really well, I think. And then imagine one more, where he feels bad for what he’s done. It could be really sad and stuff.
