I don't have one but I'd love to have one. Test drove the 2.0iS - loved it. Love the looks. Test drove the 2023 crosstek. Prefer the XV (hands down) for looks, torque and the display - I'm not a fan of the (oversized) display. Full stop. Prefer the Subaru XV over the CX's ... zippier, better feedback ... CX5 too softy although a great car overall.

Subarus are absolutely amazing. Owned 3... loved all 3 of them :) 👍🏼
What they could do better: More power and perhaps ditch the CVT (regular torque converter gearbox would do the job even better)

Great review Paul. I prefer these jacked up hatchbacks and wagons to an suv. 99% of suv buyers would never take their car true off road so cars like this is perfect for most people. I also like the colour. I'm over the silver and grey

My first Subaru was a 2012 XV (diesel, 6MT). After a long and passionate relation I changed to a 2018 XV. I use it for work, sport, leasure, quite a lot off road - just because that is the kind of place I live. Snow, mud, dust, sand, gravel, motorway - same good. All my other cars used to be like tools for me, Subaru was the first that I actually started to develop feelings to.

Love my Forester (2011) hate the dealers. There was a airbag error light that came on and i brought it to them 3 different times. They wanted to charge me THOUSANDS claiming it was a seat-belt pre-tensioner. They claimed they would have to get a new driver seat because of that. Long story short, I got a recall notice because of the TAKATA airbag recall. They held out until it became COMPULSORY in Australia and lied their asses off meanwhile. Love the Vehicle, hate the dealers; they don't "do the right thing".

I have been a driver for 35 years and all of them with European car but somehow I decided to change to Japanese and the only thing that attracted my was the all time AWD. Dealership experience not to mention everything after the purchase has been extremely disappointing. I am already thinking about trading my 2022 (only 3+ months into purchasing it) with another European car. Japanese dealerships unlike European ones here in US have a notorious reputation of selling their cars to you and moving on with their lives and that is a turn off at least for me.

I bought top of range silver XV 2020. My hate for the drive train is beyond comprehension. Many years ago I had Renault 18 GTS which was a tuned 1.8 naturally aspirated engine. It would run rings around the XV. Apart from lack of power it revs its head off making me feel like I’m thrashing it when I know I’m not. The gear ratios are terrible under a little bit of gas, meaning because it has no power it’s geared to rev higher to compensate giving the feeling of thrashing the engine. Yuk! I thought the seats could be more comfortable, but apart from all of the above the tech is great with touch screen and all the bells and whistles to go with it. I am going to turbo charge the engine up to about a 100 ponies or more. Otherwise all good

I own a Subaru Impreza 2015 2.0is, I’m generally happy with mostly everything, AWD, fuel efficiency interior etc. the only thing I dislike about my car is the CVT I wish they added dual clutch auto in the future but that seems highly unlikely. So I decided to order a 2022 Hyundai i30 sedan n premium this year, front wheel drive? Yes. I can live with that, just not CVT.

If you can afford to get a Subaru Outback, definitely buy the Outback. The XV is nowhere near as good and I guess cheaper for a reason. The Outback was much quieter on the road, more comfortable and I found the XV has a lot of road noise. The XV is a good quality car, but it's nowhere near as good as an Outback. Spend the extra money and get an Outback. You won't regret it.

No sunglasses holder. Control stalks are totally hidden by the steering wheel. Boxer engine is harsh under acceleration (which is OK) when compared to in line fours. No power tail gate available. Back seat room is great. But no air vents and USB sockets for backseat passengers.
