I like all 3 tho the third instead of huge shields give him a mirror shield or a shield of water making waves/ripple when blocking basically the mirror shield and then his sword could become a trident to stick with the theme let him attack with ability taken from the enemy (shield absorbs/reflects and sword orbin this form trident allows to fire back and suppress the enemy perventing them from using it kinda like the banki stealing in blood war arc basically if you attack against him 1 you get hit 2 he takes that ability away for the duration of his banki)

Who noticed that the way ukitake's zanpakuto absorbs and reflects damage which is also because of mimihagi. It is similar to how ichibei used his other hand to stop or rather absorb those quincy bullets and then reflected it back

For being pne of the first graduates and captains of the shino academy founded by Yama, Ukitake was done dirty the whole story. I imagine his bankai has something to do with water.

I could see the the ability to seal the attack working as long as it's returned to the opponent when he uses it for himself.

I would be more concerned about Ukitake hanging out in bars drinking mimosas after lunch.

His command does connect to his shikai ability. Waves become his shield. He is taking and using the waves' as his own. The same for the lightening striking. Its maybe not as on the nose as the command being "reflect." But you can see the connection.

Twin fish? Wasn't there something about twin fish at the start of the Hell Chapter?

I think it's just his Beyond Bankai without the headdress & he sucks away the spiritual pressure of the attacks from wherever they come. The rope being a reishi magnet. The further the reishi is from the blade it is refired from, the more he can alter it.

Kubo have to do something with dis Ukitake. The hell arc just has to happen. They can do so much with that arc really anything kubo wants. It would be a shame to not let make it happen.

He can absorb alter and release at will with his shikai. What if his bankai lets him absorb, change in any way he wants, and release on a much bigger scale?

It would be cool if his bankai was like ichimonjis were instead of taking the move itself it takes the name of the move to were he can use it freely and u can’t use it at all anymore

Given the fact that Ukitake once had Mimihagi literally inside him before he became a shinigami, I bet Sogyo no Kotowari must have more hidden abilities.

Maybe he absorbs riatsu,I don't know if I spelled it right but maybe he absorbs n then incorporates into his own abilities or he kills his enemy with their own spiritual energy or pressure, whatever you want to call it, but either idea kinda reflects his shiki

I would like to see him completely change his normal characteristics and see what he can do,he's definitely 1 of my favorite characters

Bankai idea for ukitake:

His body gets covered in a barrier of water the barrier for a certain amount of time will protect ukitake from attacks when the time is up the barrier collapses it transforms into a purple lightning which then becomes absorbed by his sword which is golden in colour and has the same general shape as his shikai's blade but longer after the lightning gets sent to the blade he can essentially hit back his opponents with a faster version of their attack

Can he still absorb and reflect attacks with his astral projection?

What could be interesting is if in TYBW in the next episode, if Mimihagi would be able to use the powers of the people that offered their souls/parts of their souls to him. In short if we see Mimihagi fight like how he did in the manga it could be extended to include some additional scenes where he utters the words or takes on a form similar to Ukitake to do so.

I would like to see more of his Shikai ability first
