Have 4xe questions?? Feel free to text me personally at 704-459-3087 . Here I can go more in-depth about any of your questions!
ОтветитьTHANK YOU! 😊
ОтветитьNo, my friend. What makes part time and full time or auto different is that when you make a crossing on asphalt the differential will not be locked, which will allow the wheels to spin. Remember that when you cross the 4 wheels they rotate at different speeds and different trajectories, this is solved with the center differential; If it does not exist, it would damage the elements of the transfer case and wear out the tires. In a straight line you don't have any problem, the problem is when crossing. In part time it forces all four wheels to rotate at the same speed and trajectory, taking greater advantage of traction on soft ground.
ОтветитьWeak explanation. Sorry.
ОтветитьThe clearest display and explanation on YT. Thank you
Ответить4wd part time is another name for a center locking differential FYI
ОтветитьAwesome video, thanks!
Ответитьany advantage 4 auto vs just 2. like gas mileage, ride comfort etc? (dry weather, paved roads)
Ответить“Part time” name is confusing. If this is essentially a center lock, shouldn't it be called “Full time” then?
ОтветитьWell done and appreciated for new wrangler owners, thanks
ОтветитьNice explanation 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Could you please, let me know how’s your DEF consuming? Recently, the engine light popped out on my Jeep Wrangler Sahara and dealer found a problem on DEF pump. I had to replace the whole kit(pump+reservoir) and they also performed an PCM update. After that, I noticed a high consumption on that.
ОтветитьSo 4H part time is like central diff lock
ОтветитьIs the 4HA only in the 4Xe
ОтветитьThanks a lot! Now switched to 4h auto by default)
ОтветитьMine just has 2 high and 4 high. There is no “auto” designation so does that mean I don’t have 4 high auto and can’t use it full time?
ОтветитьI wanted that transmission but I had no choice
Ответить4high drive I can drive on normal driving on road
ОтветитьAwesome Video, as a fellow Jeeper I appreciated this.
ОтветитьAmazing, did not know! Thank you very much, going out to give it a spin.
ОтветитьBrandon - curious what your thoughts are now that Jeep has discontinued the Selec-Trac (4H auto) option in the 2023/2024 models
ОтветитьI have 2023 Rubicon 4xe and I always keep it at 2H, maybe it's different for Sahara? 🤔
ОтветитьCan you also explain what the 'N' and "4L' settings are though please...?!
ОтветитьGreat explanation, thank you! I have never fully understood the difference until watching this!!
ОтветитьWrong. It will automatically push the fork in the differential to engage the front driveline. It is switched electronically as all ‘auto’ things work. It’s like the push button 4h in some vehicles. A Solenoid is activated.
ОтветитьWhat u r not explaining is the speed u can drive in the different 4x4 selections
ОтветитьWould this apply to my 2018 Wrangler JK?
ОтветитьThank you for that information
ОтветитьI feel like he kind of sounds like Kermit the Frog lol
ОтветитьFabulous thank you!
ОтветитьI love your channel! Right to the point and easy to understand! 👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьI looked through some of messages before asking this question.
So in 4H I have seen that people say you should just drive in that mode up to 55MPH. Also is it wise to drive normal driving mode in 4H all the time?
Thank you, PS my 2010 does not have 4H part time
Which is better for someone who will primarily use a Jeep for off-road?
ОтветитьYou’re explanation of 4H Auto is incorrect. The transfer case has a clutch in it. When the rear end detects slip it will engage the front wheels. This is now an AWD system. It’s a reactive system. It’s not continuously sending power to all 4 wheels like an AWD car would.
Just like the name implies 4H Auto. It’s just automatically engaging the 4wd. This is different than an AWD or a Full Time 4wd system.
There is also no way the front wheels can be spinning faster than your rear wheels in this case. The transfer case does not allow that. In the video your back right tire is out of frame and is more then likely spinning at the same rate as the front wheel.
I have jeep Cherokee liberty kj 2003 3.7cc the part- time is 50-50 and the full-time is 48-52?? which of the two can i use in the dry???
ОтветитьGood info as always. Question is there any potential of damage or warranty issues with keeping it in 4h auto all the time? Or any difference in MPG?
ОтветитьI would order only with the 4H Auto
ОтветитьNice Demo !!👍. How about consumption both Gas and/or electric range between 2H and 4H Auto
ОтветитьOne question, I am new to this so please forgive me if this question is redundant. Is what you are explaining here the same as having a locker on the Rubicon? If not, then what's the difference?
I do love your videos!!
🤣🤣🤣. Did he just put on his seat belt
ОтветитьReally stupid question but I'll ask. is this the reason why when i go into 4wd Part-time on regular pavement and try to make a sharp turn and my steering wheel jerks and shakes....hence why we are only suppose to drive in snow or mud in 4wd part time? correct? ....because for the longest time i thought something was wrong with my 4wd system.
ОтветитьJust an excellent explanation of the 2wd to 4wd auto to 4wd part time.
ОтветитьI (dumb) finally understand 😀...time to explain to wife!
ОтветитьSo adding the auto option doesn’t change anything else? It’s just a bonus feature?
ОтветитьHello Brandon. Thanks for the explanation of 4wd system. I do have a question which I am unable to find a clear answer for.
In JLU Rubicon equipped with Rock track 4:1 HD full time transfer case /4H Auto/ How exactly this transfer case operates in 4h Auto and 4H/4L Part time. There are allot of discussions that this t-case has clutch pack which is taking care for the 4H Auto operations and in the same time it has classical lock / chain/ when in 4H/4L Part time. There is also information that the 4H Part time lock is engaged by the clutch system, by locking the clutches in solid state imitating the real lock as in classical Part time t-case.
Thanks
Brandon you are awesome! Been watching all your videos and have a better understanding of my new 4XE.
ОтветитьDid you paint the interior trim pieces to match the body? If so nice job!
ОтветитьWhere'd you get/how'd you do the blue dash?
ОтветитьWhich would you suggest during snowy weather, snow on roads?
ОтветитьQuestion for you in this- does the 4Auto vs 2H have any impact on the electric only range?
Ответить
