I agree 100% if u learned web dev,seo,digital marketing,google analytics=which is all free. You can use this knowledge to build affeliatemarketing empire.. the only thing u have to pay is the domain name (which is not essential)

The only person who might spend money is the one who needs post boost or adverticement boost and yes those boost helps contents get more engagement not gonna lie ..
But if you're broke and you need money emmidiately for rent .. this is not the right thing to start.. affeliate marketing is gor the people who have (time) to dedicate in this feild alone...
I must say
If u have no money=u must have time to gather skills
If u dont have the skills =u must have money to capitalize and pay for ads or pageboost on fb and different platforms...

So in my case i jave a lot of time so i can learn skills and develop website,optimize its content via SEO . Syndicate contents ,plan,share, publish using digital marketing.. and ofcourse i studied inbound because i have free time...

I dropped out of High School @ Age 14 because the government forbids financial education like a sorcerer forbids you to use black magic, I have no G.E.D. because they are impossible as all hell & I live w/my dad who is 68 years old & I lost my mother to Stage 4 Breast Cancer on Tues. Very honest !! In fact even for a smart person as me, I spent 2000+ already, but did not see any steady income coming yet. So when I was run out of budget, I paused to learn stuff first.

In the past few weeks, things have slowed down quite a bit in affiliate marketing. Throughout August and into the mid-September, I have been getting a sale every 2-3 days on one particular product in the health niche, then sales suddenly stopped and didn't get anymore sales until yesterday. I don't know if this slow-down is a normal monthly trend that occurs after the second half of the month of if offers have gotten harder to promote but for those just starting out within the past three weeks, I'd imagine things will be quite hard.

Recently, I hit 2k/day. Consistency is the key to success. And, yes! you absolutely need a day job when you start affiliate marketing. Expect to lose some money

I must implore everyone. This is a game of testing and metrics. You just can't put $10 and expect to see results no matter what the Guru says how easy it is to do. It becomes easy once you go through the growing pains, and understand what you are doing, so you can execute effectively. But to do it right you will need at least the bare minimum of $1k (preferably $2k) and you better expect to lose that money because you will be testing, fine-tuning, and adjusting till you get your footing. Once you comprehend reading the data, implementing your tactics properly, and not feeling you will lose your shirt is when you can make shit happen. Is it 100% after the fact, no? But you will be comfortable moving forward knowing you have the knowledge for this game.

The truth is affiliate marketing is for people with a lot of cash behind them.
