are your dt 1990's modded to use balanced i ask bc i know some ppl have done that or do you run them as is?

i know u use the beyerdynamic DT 1990's they have a sensitivity level over 100 which is usually ok to be powered by your laptop or phone (or so im told im a noob so maybe i'm wrong) and i have this in my cart right now along with the headphones would u say i NEED this right now or is this something i can hold off on for a little while?

i know this is an old video but does anyone know if the balanced port on the back does the same job as the one on the front? (i prefer not having anything plugged into the front for a cleaner look), also is it safe to leave the device plugged in/on all the time?

I'm new to all this trying to learn. I have a pair of Razer Nommo Pro speakers. They are like the Rolls Royce of the Razer brand as far as speakers go. I also want to purchase a pair of Bluetooth Focal Bathys. I know the headphones already have a DAC inside them. Do I need a DAC/amp for the speakers sake? Can I connect the BT headphones to a BT compatible DAC/amp so everything is connected into one place. If so, any suggestions? I currently have a GSX 1000 and used to have pair of Focal Celestees, but discovered I'm just not a wired guy. Now I'm a bit confused on what to do. I wanna replace the GSX 1000 as well because I purchased it used and there is a weird problem with it where it randomly makes a loud 'thump' sound out of nowhere. The same sound you get when saving settings on it, but in this case it just randomly goes off out of nowhere and scares the shit out of me. I do like have the volume wheel right in front of me though from the GSX 1000. So what equipment would you get if you were in my shoes? Thanks.

So couple of years ago I bought the V1 of the Ifi Zen Dac. Used it in combination with my Fidelio X2HR and somehow the volume output was weak. I had to turn the volume knob way over half to get some volume and if I turned it to max the volume would be a little bit uncomfortable but no where near blowing your ears. Dialing up to that levels ofcourse came with noise too. I had no idea what was the issue so I send it back and ordered the Fiio K5 Pro. That combo worked amazingly.

Now I got rid of my desktop in the meantime, tried a laptop, eventually ended back with a desktop PC. I still have the X2HR, but it's wearing out and I want to replace it soon with either a HD600, 660S or a Sundara. I could very well order the Fiio K5 Pro ESS, I know it works well and it's pretty cheap. But somehow I'm thinking that I'd want something with more options and a more modern look and feel. Topping DX3 Pro+, amazing dac, if it just didn't have that cringe volume knob... The other option is the Ifi Zen Dac V2. Looks and feels and feature wise, perfect. And it gives me the option to dip my toes into balanced as well.

I'm just worried about the power output because of my experience with the previous model.

Anyone have experience using this with planars? DCA Aeon Closed X, Hifiman, etc.

Is anyone able to tell me if I can get the "enhancments" tab in speak properties with the iFi Zen DAC V2??? This is the tab with loudness equalization for footsteps in fps games like mw2/warzone

Im lookin to upgrade my audio setup for playstation5 (maybe in the future pc, so thinking alteady about to buy something for pc as well). Im almost only playing fps and open world. Would you recomment the ifi amp and dac with the beyerdynamicdt 1990 for the playstation? Will that work ? And do i need both? I mens amp and dac?

Can this be connected to a standard Computer/PC running Windows 10 with a Creative soundcard installed? I wanted to use it as a Headphone Output source where i can easily access it on my desk/work space when needed. My onboard PC Case audio jack is temperamental so i want something where i can plug my headphones into when i need to. Would this work or not? Thanks to anyone who can answer. Im lost you said it was a dac+amp but its called a zen dac meaning its just a dac? Then you mentioned the zen can being the amp. What?? I thought the zen dac was the dac+amp. So does that mean you can pair the zen dac and can to stack just to use higher powered drives?? But what about the amps of both the dac and can will they interfere?? Little help for the newbie looking to buy a dac+amp as a beginner.

Just grabbed one for $100. Sounds really good. Giving the Tidal MQA a shot, but I think I'd rather save 5 bucks and stream Qobuz for hi-res.

I just bought the dt1990s. Am using them strictly for gaming. Im confused will this be enough to drive them for my pc?

We can read all about the hardware and specs elsewhere, so the only really interesting thing left is sound quality? Dissapointing with only 18 secs on that.
I tried the Zen Air DAC but I still prefer the sound of my old Emu 0404.

As a Tidal user MQA is the main reason I picked this DAC... that's and it's combination of 4.4mm and quarter inch jacks.

If you are not using balanced in/out or looking for a differnt in/out then USB/RCA. I can really advice you to go for the ifi ZEN DAC AIR if you are looking for the same use case it will be a 100 buks less then the v2. In my case i use the air to hook up to my PC, but also i use the RCA out to my DSP to then work on my speaker crossovers. ZEN DAC air also has the Xbass button, just like Brain says i also use it all then time AMAZING, very smart and just godly intergaded if you ask me. But yeah, ZEN DAC AIR is 100 buks, that price man, just unbeatable. TIP: If you still can get one try to pair this with the Philips SHP9500 or Philips SHP9600. With the bassboost its sound so cool because the boost is pretty hard, that open 50mm drivers are so good it really changes your game.

I stream Hi-Res from my IPhone to my Adcom system and have been using a Dragonfly Red for over a year. Just bought the Zen V2 and compared it with my Red, I like the Red. The Zen V2 is fatiguing on my ears. I don’t wana spend another $200 on cables and power supply if it’s not gonna make a difference, lesson learned.

does anyone know how to switch the power from USB to power supply ?

Just an FYI, iFI has released new firmware for Zen Dac V2. It's fully compatible with PS5.

I'm bumping up the question if anyone has had a chance to compare the K7 with the iFi zen V2. Both in the same price range rally so it's great to have a comparison if anyone has already had a chance to check it out.
Especially for an open headphone like the HD560S or DT900 ProX for example.

I got this and then paired it with a hybrid tube amp lol I love it. (also have a real tube amp but only use it occasionally with HD600) Mostly use my Hifiman Sundara :)

The fact that you cant switch between headphones and speaker kills it for me. My speakers have their on and off switch at the back and reach over my whole desk all the time when I wanna switch is uncomfy. Damn.... I really liked this one...

Just bought the iFI Zen DAC v2 & Sennheiser HD560S as my first leap into the audiophile world I'm excited for them to show up!

I'm looking for a headphone amp that has analog IN to use after the GoXLR in my chain (goxlr isn't quite giving enough juice for my HD 6XX).
I previously had a Schiit Magni Heresy but it needs to be repaired and since I live in Canada, it's not worth the money/time to send it back to them for repair. So ideally something I can grab from Amazon.
Any suggestions?

I have an iPad Pro 12.9” running Tidal app and sennheiser HD 660 headphones
I’m also using an AudioQuest Cinnamon, USB B to USB C Cable from the iPad to the dac
I got the Ifi zen DAC v2 to use it with these devices but the iPad Pro is not able to power the Ifi Zen Dac v2
Should I buy the power cord that’s sold separately to properly power the dac ?
Have you run into the same situation where you may need the power cord and if so what’s your experience using it?

If you have EQ settings (via softwared) on your PC do those EQ tweaks carry over to the DAC or is only sending the flat signal to the DAC?
