Must also remember that under O'Leary Leeds finished 4th,3rd,4th and 5th during his stay at Leeds. By todays standard thats Champions League qualification 3 seasons out of 4.

What happened to Leeds was destiny, and the fall was hard. But it just goes to show how much of a knife edge top flight football was back then if you were top 5 flirting with CL but you weerent an Arsenal or Man U back then who qualified every year.

Leeds were a powerhouse in the 1960’s-1970’s, and in the 1990’s-2001 Leeds were a top 4 club, just behind Arsenal and Man U. It is unfortunate and sad to see this great club get treated poorly due to corrupt owners. Leeds belong in the premier league

Basically, leeds tried to do what man city and chelsea have done. But didn't have the funds to do it. So went down. Same went for Portsmouth post 2008. Money in football is needed, but has become far too decisive a variable in the fortunes of clubs and leagues. And it is killing the romance of the game. The romance that made us all football fans to begin with.
