A long time ago use to have a single Dragonlance book that just sat around until I got rid of it. I'm not totally sure which book it was but it could have been a part of the heroes series. I remember on the cover it had a woman wearing blue scaled armor but, I cannot remember the title. I wish I still had it.

Dragonlance chronicles was one of my earliest introductions to high fantasy, and remains the measuring stick for every fantasy book i read today.

My brother had the first 3 or 4 novels with the Elmore covers. I read them back in the mid 80s and they were fun light reads. Compared to the heavy stuff I usually read they were the fresh air I needed. I may have to find them and give them another go.

I know they tried to make a movie out of this, But I wished this would get attention by a game designer or series maker. The damn thing as LOTR's little sister that needs to get relived in modern times.

I like how you summed it up. I once heard someone say the main element of Dragonlance that separates it from other D&D worlds is that there is always an epic battle happening. My own personal opinion is, the main feature of Dragonlance that makes it unique is its factions / races and their individual rules, lore, and history. The Towers of High Sorcery, the Solamnic Knights, the Dragon Armies, the Kender, the Elf factions, etc. etc.

Funny, when most people these days think of Dragonlance they think of novels. When I think of Dragonlance, the first thing that comes to mind is the D&D campaign setting from Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. I guess it's a generational thing.

I had dinner with Larry Elmore at a convention when i was talking to a guy from 10ton hammer. He was introduced to me and i said "THE" Larry Elmore?! I was star struck to say the least, but he did recount a story about one of the paintings he did for the Tales Trilogy, in which i believe said he had a stroke, and still painted the painting in 3 weeks, was a great night and one of my favorite memories.

Now, every once in a while I'd be looking up DragonLance to see where it stands; has anything changed, updated, etc.? Usually, the answer is no, which is saddening but also relieving because it means i might actually be able to read all i did not (which is, frankly, the vast, vast majority). Fell in love with Mina in the Dark Priestess trilogy, and didn't fully understand why there were Good, Evil, and Neutral gods (i was like 11 when i read it, i didn't know about DnD alignment system or anything lol), but it was written beautifully, and i went to read Dragons of Autumn twilight and the rest of that trilogy, but when i tried to read Legends (i think), it was just... Too difficult to read and understand what i was reading. Everything was so confusing. Kinda gave up at that point, lol. The series also super hard to read in a correct order, but it's always worth a read.

I have the original trilogy and I finished the first book this Friday.
Could you do a video on the ogres?
Id like to have a few things clear out for them.
In particular, I'm interested in hearing about the Irda.
