Solo Angle Tarn Wild Camp In The Lake District

Right now I'm having mental issues had them for years been watching you for about a week And I have ordered some gear And I'm going to start doing little walks and camps Because I'm 54 Thought I had nothing and nowhere but I was wrong ❤❤❤ I was wrong I have everything and everywhere Spent the last of my money not living on my sister's couch anymore thank you

I will be fearful doing my first solo wildcamp soon. I will be taking my dog. If I wake up in the darkness and find her sleeping soundly there is no problem as she would sense anything wrong long before I could.

ADHD and autistic, I have always handled things better when out in the hills by my self. One of my most settled/mindful walks was going up Windy Gyle in the middle of winter, not a soul around and just utter peace.

You are 27 now so happy belated 25th and happy 27th for last June. Really enjoying your blogs. I’ve just bought my first tent at 53 yrs and looking forward to some wild camping. Probably start in Dartmoor since I’m a Southerner. I’ve been inspired. Looking forward to some outdoor therapy. Bless your heart Abbie ❤

Happy birthday, Abbie! I am just watching this now and am truly enjoying it. You look so happy. Your work is really taking an effect coz now I'm itching for a hike.

You above all "own your life" you have demonstrated that in your vlog with perfect clarity and detail. Your message to others to understand, take on board and overcome what seems to be an increasingly understood and frequent malady is both brave and caring. Without louding off about my earlier experiences of stress etc I absolutely agree about the healing powers of the outdoors for human kind in general. May your journey be blessed with all comfort. Oh Abbie i think we are all complicated messes. Some just hide it. You share your ups and downs and help us know we are not alone with our struggles. I really really hope you realise how much your videos mean. And how much they help. Apart from being super beautiful and informative the emotional part to me is even more Important. Arrived at my wild camping spot yesterday to 5 men ripping up saplings for a fire cans of Stella everywhere missed the two other friends that where enjoying eachother behind me unreal how long before we all get prosecuted for enjoying the wild

Great wild camp and walk Abbie. If you'd gone down the ridge from Thornthwaite Crag you could have ticked off Gray Crag on the way, and the ridge is a lovely walk.
Also Hayeswater is a tarn now and was formally a reservoir, the history is, it was dammed in 1908 to provide water for Penrith, and was returned to a tarn in 2014. Lovely seeing you enjoy your birthday wild camp at Angletarn. I'm planning to camp there when I purchase a tent. I can't wait.

What an amazing way to spend your birthday. I'm trying to get to that point myself. I have had a lot of loss in our family. 4 in the past 2 years. I feel so broken sometimes. I think I'm still a ways off from doing any camping. focusing instead on getting out more regularly into nature. It really does help.

Well done you. I'm lucky to call Cumbria my home, and though I'm a good deal older still feel those anxieties you speak of. Cumbria is my birth home though I have worked professionally in the outdoors my greatest joy is solo backpacking in my own beautiful homelands. Nothing brings that inner happiness of watching the sun go down on a hard won day or waking to a new day where the choices are ours alone. Keep on keeping on, and just breath it all in.

I 100% agree, getting into nature is so empowering, I feel so alive, exhilarated & at peace out there. I live the working week by planning & looking forward to the next time we’re out on the fells, It’s the only thing I think about.

I just wanted to thank you for sharing this experience. I've been thinking about lately about taking my son, who has has special educational needs, ADHD & autism amongst other things, on a wild camping trip. He loves the outdoors and camping (albeit usually on a more traditional campsite) and I wasn't sure how he'd feel about wildcamping.

However, after watching your video, I sat with my son and we watched it together and he can't wait to go to Angle Tarn!

I'd watched quite a few videos, and they were more about what kit you should have etc etc but your video was more about the experience, and that's what me and my son will be going for.

So thank you. We'll definitely be there at some point over the summer, and I suspect it won't just be a one time thing.
