This isn't slow at all.. I have the E55 AMG W210 '97 with 354 ps and the acceleration with the 540i is almost the same.. Well i mean the E55 amg ist a bit faster but no big differences to see there..

man e39 and e60 v8 (no turbo) were just some of the smoothest most refined V8 ever in a car imo. I had 545i for 12 years. if it was not for the high fuel consumption i would get a e39 540i like that i think. the car is so beautiful timeless and the v8 is so nice.
