Interceptor 006 Has Tackled Over 850,000 KG of Trash in Guatemala So Far

Seems to be mostly plastic bottles. Put some 10 cent for return to it (deposit) and problem is mostly solved. And some poor can earn some money too.

If it was really working to capture trash from Guatemala then the United States wouldn't be overrun with millions of blood thirsty Hispanic militants

This will not end until the country has enforced solid waste management laws, sanitary landfills, and trash collectors that take their loads to a landfill instead of dumping it off a cliff into the river. The people must demand this.

It is Money to earn.

This is obviously a very important first step. And I applaud whoever is willing to fund it. But perhaps the next step is to investigate how thousands of tons of plastic are getting into the river in the first place. This is more than just careless hikers, boaters and fishermen dropping an empty bottle from time to time.

Isnt it funny how 7 out of the top ten most contaminated rivers in the world are NOT in western countries and yet we fell the most guilt over polluted rivers.

Wouldn't putting large dumpsters in the cities along the river help stop the trash from being dumped into the river? Seems like free garbage service might be a better solution. 🤷‍♀️

Its starts with citizens then big companies .. but lets face it the people don't give a shit they themselves and there goverments created this, and they dont care.... starts with looking in a mirror.

Without teaching the people who and how to dispose waste, generate awareness and not teaching younger generation in school about environment protection , is probably a failed cause just to raise funds and make money..

Waste of money, time, and energy. Target the source of the trash instead of picking it up AFTER it was dumped.

If you had a shredding station you could fit more into each truck. I just hate to see some big heavy truck hauling what is probably 50% empty water bottles.

I DONT UNDERSTAND ONE THING AND ONE THING ONLY.....WHY ISNT anyone teaching people not to throw trash in rivers/oceans and on undesignated areas in the first place. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO TEACH PEOPLE? BASIC MANNERS and WHY Arent we punish them with force for not following?
