It seems I can't find any official information about this, so I'll just say it: this isn't the vigorous, feisty FotR Gandalf the Grey. This is the slighty languid, even weary The Hobbit trilogy Gandalf. Look at the hat and the beard, and compare it to the prior scene (Caradhras) and the next one (The Doors of Durin). And listen to Sir Ian's delivery of the lines... Perhaps this was filmed during The Hobbit production and later added to the extended editions?

The manner in which Gimli speaks says alot of Moria's place in the Dwarf Folk.

Geez I remember the first 5 seconds of this clip mainly from palying the FOTR/TT video game back in the days. Had to replay the level a few times and this sequence is now stuck in my head

I never cared much for Gandalf the White. I much prefer Gandalf the Grey.

It’s crazy whenever I see an “extended scene I can’t fathom why it was that scene to be omitted. All of them contribute greatly to the narrative and character developments.

Man’s could’ve at least told Frodo gimli is immune to it so there’s one ally he can trust off the bat you know so Frodo doesn’t feel utterly alone well Sam helps with that

I always prefered the idea that Gandalf knows he will die if he goes into Moria as opposed to just being reluctant to go.

Strongest Humans in lotr in the Films : 1. Aragorn (best swordsman)
2. Eomer (best With His Spears)
3.Boromir
4.Faramir
5.Theodin (He is a Bit to old to Beat the Others but the best Leader With aragorn)

Boromir was not a bad guy, just weak in some ways. Not much different than his brother in the Tropics.

This is my 1st time watching this scene. I have reason to believe Gandalf was saying his Goodbyes & Good Luck to Frodo. He knew it was his fate to meet his end as Gandalf The Grey to a Balrog.
What he didn't expect was Returning as The New White as Saurumon Should've Been but Saurumon Discarded his Assigned Mission.

Then frodo pippin Gimli blame themselves about gandalf fall
