My thought is Milton's Maze is a test for super mutants, probably made by institute synths to test the level of Intelligence. Thats just my thought...and most likely someone elses too.

With Deacon the story about him being an anti-synth gang just rings true to me.

As far as the mystery of Deacon, he reminds me of the character of Elam Garak from Deep Space Nine. A former operative with the obsidian order who was exiled and found solace in the embrace of the greatest enemy of his people. He was fond of constructing elaborate and intricate lies as well as simple small lies, as he would say, why tell the truth when a lie will do?

For the mysterious stranger I think I have it figured out. In the first game the mysterious stranger is canonically a different person/people. We can see this in the stranger being both a male or female depending on the player, now I believe the 3d fallout stranger is in fact the same person, starting in new Vegas/3 and then 10 years later in the commonwealth. The lonesome drifter is 28 in New Vegas which would make the mysterious stranger roughly 46 at the earliest, meaning he’s around his mid to late 50s in 4 hence the older complexion. He most likely grew up in the west, learned of the og mysterious strangers, ended up in Montana, had a kid, left for 3 and new Vegas, and then eventually finds himself out in the commonwealth

uhm.... regarding the mysterious stranger. in the past, in our reality, real life? people used to a while back, in history make reports of seeing men in black suits. it was said these men would commonly ask ' what is your name?'" when they spoke, many reports said that at times theyd speak nearly at the same time, their voices sounding either robotical or words drawn out- like theyre TRYING to make sure that we understand them, similar to how one would speak when they WANT to be understood and know they have an accent. Theory? Perhaps the mysterious stranger is a hidden alien, but different from the alien species commonly seen in fallout 4 that is aggressive. Thoughts?

I would love it if, in the next fallout game, the mysterious stranger, when triggered, comes up behind the target and beats them with a cane or walker. Lol

Fun fact: by the time of Fallout 4, The Radiation levels should be near gone. So in 10 years or more the rads should be gone by now

what happens if u kill a undercover deacon charakter bevor first time visiting the railroad? are they instanly hostile or is deacon still say some positive about u to get u a member of railroad or is he missing so u cant join?

you know... the name Deacon means servant/messenger... assuming everything he says is a lie, his name may be a message and lie in itself. when it comes to lovecraftian myths, that is significant. if there is a deacon for each main character in the fallout lore, then the servants could be steering the main characters according to the ancient evil ones will. in fact, deacon could be the reason why you were frozen, why your family was destroyed and why you changed the face of the commonwealth. the aliens may even be the good guys trying to stop the awakening of the old ones.

There's a cool reference to the mysterious stranger in the zeta DLC in fallout 3, if you have the perk you there's a dialogue that basically says that if we're lucky, a friend may come to help us

It felt super weird hearing decon randomly pop up and try his very best to get me to join the railroad, I find synthetic life abhorrent so brotherhood or bust.

Funny glitch: If you get the mysterious stranger to help you during the long pipeline bridge in the dlc Operation Anchorage for Fallout 3. There is a small chance that he will accidentally walk off the pipeline and you'll get a notification that says "The mysterious stranger is unconscious".

Technically there is some raider having a log stating that he saw the mysterious stranger as well: almost as fascinated by him as us lot, that raider starts experimenting, trying to make the stranger appear by putting himself and others in harms way.... In the end the mysterious stranger appeared, but not to help him, instead lethally wounding him. The most interesting thing is that that raider states he saw him for the first time after being insanely lucky at cards, which makes sense since the perk is related to luck.

What if the Mysterious Stranger is some type of higher power cult with all major influential characters from the Vaults? They track down sole surivors/lone wanderers etc to help them in their journey and once they're strong enough and prove to make a difference in the Wasteland/Commonwealth etc then they too join the cult and get sent out to find more?

Deacon is a Synth-Human hybrid from the future. Thus he joined the Railroad to ensure his Synth Mother was freed and ensure he is born and maintain the harmonious timeline where Hybrids have saved the earth from radiation and now live in a Eutopia ready to blow itself up with Nukes for the future Fallout that takes place in an advanced society. Prove me wrong!

Deacon could potentially be immortal somehow. I think maybe the reason he was watching over the vault is he might have seen the institute people leaving the vault with Shawn and might have thought that's where the institute was located so he was staking it out.

the thing i dont get about the grandchester ghost is that lucy killed herself when she was 18? why would her ghost be a child when she wasnt a child

So on the radio Travis says that someone was watching the player get out of vault 111 and I think the game was giving us a hint even tho we know nothing of Deacon until we get to the railroad
