ОтветитьMy apob is high along with my ldl but all inflammatory markers are low.. following a low carb while food diet as mentioned in the video for couple years.. doc just prescribed plant sterols to help lower ldl. Any thoughts?
ОтветитьMito Q is available and as far as crossing the BBB Liposomal CoQ10 may handle that.
ОтветитьThe body makes about 85% of cholesterol. Cholesterol is important for synthesis of sex hormones, bile acid and salts, vitamin D. It plays an important role in axon firing (a major component of myelin sheath) and possibly faciltates neurotransmitters release and reuptake. Its level in the brain is extremely high.
Phytosterols were promoted to block cholesterol enterohepatic recirculation. However, they are found to be concentrated in arterial plaques likely as a result of macrophage engulfing damaged LDL (oxidized and/or glycated) and phytosterols forming foam cells. Foam cells traverse arterial endothelium and somehow become trapped there
Wish Dr Ali got the hype that Peter Attia got because he is sharp and straight up.
ОтветитьThanks so much for replying to me. I am so happy to from you doctor. I refused to take the statin because my doctor prescribed for me when he saw the test results was 165 the bad cholesterol and the rest I was fine. I am 59 years old and I am active and healthy.
ОтветитьMy cholesterol is 175, HDL 65, LDL 100, Triglycerides 73, Lipoprotein(a) 10, Sed rate 5 and CRP 0.02. Doctor is concerned that my ApoB is 69 and Homocysteine is 12.1. Waiting for CAC results. Did stress and echocardiogram, came back normal.
ОтветитьJesse - I subscribed because you ask right, appropriate and timely questions and draw responses. Well done.
ОтветитьI had an appt with my Md last week to discuss my “high cholesterol”. I told him that I wasn’t concerned. As I explained why, my LDL is high, HDL was good, and my triglycerides were low, HbA1c was 5.6 (ideally I’d like it about 5.4). He agreed with me that he thinks my cholesterol was great. I was surprised.
Ответитьwhen I went on carnivore, my LDL shot up to 333.
ОтветитьBuffalo wild wings cooks their wings in TALLOW!
I don’t know anyone else that does that.
I am one year carnivore. I have two pages of ailments that are completely gone. This is a very sustainable, satiating, and you do an injustice to those people who need the help of this type of eating in order to heal themselves. Don’t discourage them by saying it’s not sustainable. I believe you could do a disservice here.
ОтветитьCardiologist on LDL❤
ОтветитьWhat a great interviewer and guest!
ОтветитьThis DOCTOR is GEM! Shame the big percentage of doctors, only push medications!
ОтветитьHow long will it take for this knowledge aboutcholesterol and LDL levels become mainstream in today’s medical practices ?
ОтветитьThe world is taking more statins than ever before in history,...200 million people. Yet we have the highest heart disease in history. Clearly, they're not working.
ОтветитьGetting 7 to 8 hrs sleep is also another variable to implement
ОтветитьI occasionally consume grass fed organic meat
ОтветитьLove Dr. Ali. Way smarter than most most docs, but practical too.
Also must commend the interviewer. Thank you! I’m searching for more of Dr. Ali and subscribing as well!
Loving this interview ! Thank you.
ОтветитьDr Tim Noakes says that you don't need any carbs for optimal / exercise performance.
ОтветитьThis is such a great interview and Jesse is the best interviewer ever . He's the best with the most incisive and succinct questions . I'm a fan . Love Dr Nadir Ali . Great intelligence for both him and Jesse.
ОтветитьBrilliant
ОтветитьWatching this for the 3rd time. Dr. Ali is so intelligent. I wish I had a doctor like him. I would feel more safe healthwise in making decisions with regards to my health at any given time.
ОтветитьThis Dr. is soooo far ahead of the majority of his peers!
ОтветитьHi doctor my total cholesterol was 235 triglycerides 90 Hdl 50 but ldl was 165 and my ratio was 4.8 and my dr prescribed me the Lipitor and I told him I declined and he told dietary only 5%. I am 59 years old and healthy and not on any medication and I am 5.3 and weight 137 lbs. what do you think doctor please advice thanks in advance
ОтветитьI wish more cardiologist and PCP's knew this. My PCP wants to smack me silly bc my cholesterol is now 237. Told me to immediately stop all animal fat/ proteins and become vegan and start by following Mediterranean diet. I'm confused 🤔
ОтветитьI was diagnosed with Angina and I went on a low carb, low fat, high protein diet , plant based whole foods an year ago and my symptoms are no more. Also had 80-90% blockage in a non-dominant artery. Doctors recommended Aspirin and Statins, I did not accept that suggestion, and I am still alive. Along with my Angina symptoms that reversed. I have reversed piles, reversed prediabetic disease, no dandruff anymore, fungus in toe nail has reversed, skin is less crumbly and loads and loads of other positive changes in the body. The only thing I find common with my Plant based whole foods diet and the diet Dr Nadir Ali is recommending(low carb, high fat) is that they both seem to have ultra processed foods absent. I won't be able to change to Dr Nadar's diet because of the positive effect Plant based whole foods has already had, can't risk it. Another thing common between Plant based whole foods diet and this one is that they both underplay the importance of Statins
ОтветитьSir my heart rate increased I checked bp it was 160/93.then I got tested my lipid profile
Total cholesterol 286
Hdl 54
Ldl 216
Vldl 15
Triglycerides 79
Sir what should I do?I stopped eating too much sugar ghee
Should I worry and contact doctor?
Thanks
ОтветитьCould it be so that in a low carb diet the liver starts to make more ketones, and because the process of making those has the same steps that making cholesterol, the liver decreases the production of cholesterol (as there are no more lanes on the road and now some lanes are reserved for ketones), which in turn leads to rising LDL leves as liver also decreases the amount of cholesterol reseptors on its surface as it has decreased the cholesterol production due to simultaneous ketone production and can’t take as much circulating cholesterol in as before? Just a layman’s theory.
ОтветитьLOL
1. the insulin model of obesity was disproved decades ago
2. He clearly isn't aware of the Mendelian Randomization trials on LDL
3. He clearly is omitting the numerous metas on fiber consumption lowering heart disease 10% every 10g (releative risk, p>0.05%)
4. This is just another Keto zealot shitting on carbs. He talks almost exclusively on mechanisms with little citations from human outcome studies.
5. Another example of how doctors know nothing about dietetics, joining the ranks of other cardiologists, like Steven Gundry, who have no clue what they're talking about.
This is a great video from a cardiologist to share with folk who worry about high cholesterol on a high meat diet. Thank you!
ОтветитьBest in depth discussion ever from a real cardiologist MD doctor I have heard in life. Not one general MD or cardiologist would ever preach this truth. They push dangerous big pharma drugs like statins not health changes via diet.
Ответитьthe problem is that doctors do not use the complete LDL screening exam to identify the small particle LDL versus the harmless larger LDL particles.
ОтветитьAnyone know of a low carb general practitioner in Texas? I live in Fort Worth but would drive.
ОтветитьHi Doc! Im 67 yrs old, but still working.I m just visited my doctors. The result of my lab my colesterol . 5.6, HDL 2.1 corestrol LDL 3.4 ( belong to normal) but my( triglys)triglycerider.1.03 its high in short high Du I need to to take medicine for it my sugar 43 normsl 28-41.
I did not take medicine I try to do more exercises and reduse eating carbohydrete.
Do I need medecine? Thank you very much❤
Nice video..TFS very interesting &
informative 👍👏👏👏
Ah, ANOTHER STUDENT of Dr. Robert Lustig.
ОтветитьI have thyroid nodules so I take iodine jobs and selenium
ОтветитьThank you both for such a wonderful interview. I really appreciate the interviewer because he didn't interrupt once which is something that most interviewers do.
ОтветитьI thanked God for both of you, Jesse and Dr. Nadir Ali. Thank you so much.
ОтветитьIncredible that they are not talking about apoB in LDL which is definitely arthrogenic!.
ОтветитьSo glad there are brilliant drs still around telling the truth about health . Need more in Australia.
ОтветитьNice to know my coQ10 is useless. Not getting to the brain. My Mayo cardiologist said everyone should be on a stain. Not kidding.
ОтветитьI had trouble understanding what he said about magnesium - what type did he say is best to take
ОтветитьEvolution? By design doh!
ОтветитьThis is the best interview I have watched/listened to since I started my LCHF journey in April 2023 (consistent 20 gm carbs/day since that time). I am saving this link as part of MANDATORY Continuing Medical Education! I am only half way through this video. Absolutely fascinating and valuable information!!!!
