Malls came 2 decades too late in India...US had malls during 1970-80 but India they came well after 2005
So the decline came everywhere together

Price comparison onilne are mismatched

These zombie malls can be converted in to hotels, hospitals or institution

Actually the biggest problem isn't convenience it's price. Last week I went to shoppers stop the cost trousers there were twice that of their price on their own website. The funny thing is that the trousers are Shipped from the same store. So why would anyone want to go their. And this is just one of the case we can find 100s of such cases

Supermarkets like D-mart are everywhere nowadays which sell products at discounted prices, so why go to a Mall burning more time and money.

Shopping Malls should be closed because it's killing our local vendors and groceries.

The only reason for the fall of malls and preference of e commerce websites is the price of goods.

Malls in India are selling everything at mrp and customers are buying it. Tech savvy people are buying online. Till malls don't adapt to new trend they will fail.

Malls in USA have understood this and similar to online they offer price match and similar deals as online. Helping them survive

if i get cheaper things outside the malls then why i have to buy things from the malls.... malls are good during the summer hot day where a man can get relax for a while and then go outside shopping.

Mall me 50 dukan dekhne k baad ek shirt or ek pant lekar nikaltey hai log ... Kuch to sirf AC me hawa khakar nikal jatey hai 😐😐......

malls should be converted to reading zones

After corona no one is interested in buying expensive non-necessities.. people are more concerned about health and basic necessities..and also on investment because future is uncertain...the mindset of people also changed when compared to previous.. mostly spirituality is coming in to place..

Indian people are not very smart in shopping. They dont want to give 500 for a shirt from a shop but buys it for 699 with 40% discount from an e commerce platform,where they dont even get to physically see the product before buying

These dying Malls shoukd be converted into housing apartments like what was done in the US of old Mills, warehouses, etc. Or housing cum shopping cum entertainment complexes like in Germany, Spain and other parts of Europe.

So main reason is Covid virus that shut down these premises for a long time and people changed their shopping pattern.

Simple way to come out of the economic crisis is to reduce all kinds of tax by 50% across all goods and services for next 5 years and reduce income tax by 20%. Stop infrastructure development thats requires huge investments for 3 years, but existing roads/ infrastructure should be maintained properly. This will help increase the consumption across all commodities by different sections of society .. Increase in prices because of tax creates pressure on people to invest because of increase in expenditure. Also psychologically it affects people not spend money. Please take my words to the financial decision makers of our country. Ministers needs to think 💭 large and broad.. they don’t need worry about vote bank …

It's best to go for local markets or big wholesale markets. they have affordable items and one can get everything at economical price.

The price in shopping malls is exhorbitant. Most people go to malls for window shopping but do their real shopping in middle class markets.

More and more new malls are coming up, even when the old malls are dying , not sure how they even survive
