ОтветитьI watch a lot of ferry videos on the Solo Travel Japan channel, so to find out there's a long-distance ferry operating in the U.S. was a cool find.
Ответитьwait i thought dennis rodman was america's longest fairy
ОтветитьThats not the longest. The M/V Columbia is the longest
ОтветитьThe best parts of 🇺🇸 are the unwoke places where you just find hard working people who go about their business. Contrast that to where I am (nyc) and it’s two completely different worlds. Seeing this videos reinforces what I know in my heart. I’m in the wrong place for the type of person that I am. I gotta get myself together and get outta Dodge.
ОтветитьWe took that ferry from Prince Rupert to Skagway, some years ago. Then took the Rocky Mountaineer train up the Gold Rush trail and a bus into Whitehorse. There, it was the best Canada Day party we have ever seen. Everyone on and off the ferry were marvellous.
ОтветитьNOPE
ОтветитьJust found your awesome channel and I’m binge watching your travels across the US. ❤
ОтветитьNo proper bathroom tour😭😭😭
ОтветитьI thought it was common knowledge that being outside and being able to see the waves and the horizon always makes seasickness way less bad. It's the disconnect between what your eyes see and what your inner ear feels that makes you feel sick in the first place.
ОтветитьDownieLive, I drove to AK solo back in '84, and I was blown away by the scenery as well. Plus, when I got to Haines, I took the ferry down to Juneau, thus getting a taste of the beauty of the ferry method. By the way, almost as an afterthought, I finally arrived in Skagway on the morning of Day #8--long drive.
On behalf of all Americans, thanks, neighbor, for all the scenery kudos.
I don't know if you learned this, so . . . Juneau is the only state capital of the 50 that is cut off from the rest of the world by road, i.e., you have to fly in, or take a ferry like you 3 did, because of the rugged Coast Mtns. to the east, and the ocean to the west.
I just learned, via some investigation on a google search, that if you'd had the time and patience, plus another 6 days, you could have arrived at the far end of the Alaska State Ferry's route at Dutch Harbor, which is halfway out the Aleutian Islands chain. Maybe next time.😀
No electromagnetic radiation, you can feel it
ОтветитьYou do know that there are trains in British Columbia.
ОтветитьI was once there, lovely like the North Pole.
ОтветитьYour smiley makes the perfect trip...
ОтветитьThis is lovely.
ОтветитьMaybe a dumb question, do you need a passport to take that ferry to Alaska?
Ответитьas someone from bellingham i have wanted to take that ferry for a while this is giving me the urge to go to alaska
ОтветитьDude, I so want to travel with you!
Ответитьngl, it doesnt look like a good time
ОтветитьBeing on the deck seeing the waves coming is better because you are seeing and feeling the same thing at the same time and the body can handle it when you are in your room feeling one thing and seeing that the room is not moving your body cannot correlate the two together which is what causes the seasickness feeling
ОтветитьOther than yakutat
ОтветитьI also just did a alaska cruise on the same itinerary and we did the same things
Ответитьbro i literally just moved from Colorado to Bellingham
ОтветитьIts called "bring a book"! Or three! 😂

ОтветитьYes, I remember my first storm at sea, you have to be on deck or you will be sick the whole time.

ОтветитьI also have taken the Alaska Marine Highway ferry from Bellingham / it was incredible. It was fun re-living it with you
ОтветитьNothing to do?! It’s perfect to escape.
ОтветитьThat was fun, liked seeing the whales and glaciers. I think its great you took your friends / editors along to the start of his journey.
ОтветитьHaving your crew on every video makes it 100% better
ОтветитьReminds me of the norwegian "Hurtigruten", a passenger/cargo/cruise ship that runs along the majority of the norwegian coast. It makes stops in quite a few towns and cities along its journey though. Takes about 11-12 days round trip depending on the season and weather, can recommend.
