2023 and I dislike Android on my phone cuz it's like why buy an expensive Samsung phone which is what I did when it can only run Android OS Android is so limiting

Good old days. My parents bought me a wave y (bada 2) when I was a teen, unfortunately it was at this time that samsung decided to stop bada. That's how i started to be interested in electronics and programming, and that was DAMN cool, made me learn english, understand new concepts, participate to " pirate projects " by updating the software with real programmers who were behind bada

At the time, I really thought we could make samsung give an other chance to bada, as we made optimized it even more, beautified it and had the opportunity to enhance the app editor, which made apps 100 times easier to make, without crashing 🤤🤤

Strangely, even though the editor started to work correctly, most of developers started to implement apps in java (.jar apps) and optimized random jar files found on the net for different phones operating bada. We had shortcuts on the home screen, making the difference with default apps invisible (playing need for speed, other 3d games or having proper social media apps running on a little wave y ? checked !)

I swear, Bada was as insane as iOS, optimized, light, carved for mobile experience, CODED IN C++ !!
I regret so much this OS, it could have been a bomb for Google.
They stopped Bada, annouced Tizen OS as its successors for years, we were all waiting for it, then it never really came (some watches and some phone prototypes only), and they continued with android. With the current market, Android is obvisouly a good OS, but well.. it could have been totally different if they managed their OS better... and in particular the app editor.. which was horrible when they launched it.

i had this phone it was the best at that time

CD style music player interface in landscape mode in it I still remember and badly want in newer devices.😊

I had one of these. It had a beautiful screen. The image quality was great compared to other phones at the time.

My first smartphone was the Samsung Wave. I absolutely loved that phone and when I upgraded to the Wave II, I hated it. The phone was like a brick compared and so I moved on and went for the Android OS Samsung phones. At the time app availability was only a small factor as apps weren’t amazing back then anyway 😂

Every os that tried to compete in Mobile market get beaten in field of developing Apps

One thing I loved about Samsung's Wave was the diamond shaped camera glass, not seeing such smartphone design these days, some gaming phone brand might bring it up, but not for traditional consumer grade smartphone :'<

I still have it. It was such a nice phone. The design of Wave phones was the best. I just died on lack of love from Samsung. They even sold more than Windows Phone platform. If there was some continuation to Tizen OS, it could be success. But they diched it and came up with Tizen after 2 years of emptiness.

samsung always cares about profit. that's why they left support for every single smartphone they made in that time. even galaxy S their flagship didn't get the upgrades.
