Awesome apron!
ОтветитьI was always told that this kind of apron was called a Tabard..
ОтветитьThanks again Laura!
ОтветитьLove this apron tutorial!! Question…how long did you make the ties? Thinking I may need to adjust the width and tire for heavier family members.
ОтветитьFor my ties, I am making a loop of fabric in the seam at the waist on the front peice, and sewing my ties into the back. The ties will go thru the loops and tie in the front. I may add lightweight interfacing to the pocket for added body. Your tutorials are always top notch and this one is no exception. It is great for me as I cant draft patterns but I like to add my own spin to them. ❤️ My sister in laws will love these!
ОтветитьGreat video! I think I'll make a couple for myself and the other ladies in my family. I love your dress form. Is it homemade or store bought? My last one finally fell apart and I'm in the market for a new one.
ОтветитьThank you so much for sharing. My daughter needed this type for a new job. Blessings
ОтветитьLove the apron. I just made a cross back apron in a sewing class. I really like it because it has no ties. However, really like yours as it covers the upper body more fully. Thank you for all the tutorials. Love your channel.
ОтветитьCould we get a download of pattern
ОтветитьThank you for all your instructional videos... so interesting and helpful! Very much appreciated!
ОтветитьI have always had a problem with tying things in the back and now I can't at all. Which led to the idea of 2 short straps on each side. They could be added into the seam before it's sewn. Then you just tie a bit on the left and a bit on the right. Alternatively, you could put an elastic loop and button on each side, again catching the elastic in the seam. Thank you for such a fun idea.
ОтветитьLove this video, a simple basic apron! Great for up coming holidays for me and gifts.
ОтветитьСпасибо. Мне понравилось.. Жаль нет титров на русском языке .
ОтветитьI love buttons so I would make “tabs” with buttons or button holes so that it would not interfere with the reversibility of the apron. Luv this idea though!
ОтветитьWhat a good idea. Thanks Laura. 😂
ОтветитьNice pattern. My grandmother always wore these cobblets and it saves on clothes.this is great for gardening. I like the versatility of this.
Ответить❤
ОтветитьAh finally an apron that covers all the right spots and provides perfect storage. I'm forever carrying things up and down the stairs when tidying up and wishing I had pockets! This will be perfect. Thank you!
ОтветитьThank you Laura, I will definitely be making this as it is the type of apron I like wear 👍
ОтветитьI wear aprons everyday. Was just thinking how i need a new one!
ОтветитьI love your apron design…..going to make one for my grandson who is a chef!!!
ОтветитьLove the pocket idea.
You make things so simple, which is what I like. Thank you🌼 from England
I love this Laura! I am going to make myself one of these, thank you - love your tuition! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ОтветитьI’ve been looking for a pattern, would it work with ties on they sides only. Shorter ties, but one for each side.😊😊
ОтветитьOMGosh!! I literally bought the very same fabrics (the 2 busy print chocolate ones) last week to make an apron!! Great minds think alike 🥰🤗 Also, your hair looks adorable up like that 😘
ОтветитьHi Laura, This Apron looks so cute on you! I was surprised at how you put it together, great job.
Have a wonderful weekend. 🥰👍 Chris-Raleigh NC
Lovely apron, and Ideal for using some of my excess quilting fabric. I am nearly 5'3" so I may have to shorten the pocket. Wink
ОтветитьLaura you out done yourself once again 😉. I really love this type of apron. Can you please do a tutorial on this same type, but in a half apron please? Thank you once again and I'm looking forward to your next tutorial videos 🥰🤗
ОтветитьLove this apron! I would use a large colorful snap or a big button and buttonhole for the pocket. Since everyone uses phones what about a pocket at the top to slide your phone in? The chocolate them was right on. Enjoying your channel.
ОтветитьVery cute apron.
ОтветитьI think I would use snaps instead of tying.
ОтветитьO, Laura! This is the kind of apron I want! Think my mom & aunts called it a tabard apron. Grandma may have worn one too (I was only 5 when Grandma passed away) I like this style cause there are no ties to tangle in wash. Thank you so much for the memories & a great pattern!
ОтветитьCould ties be put on the sides
ОтветитьThat would also make a great apron for sewing and used as a chatelaine. It would keep the lint off of your clothes and your tools in the pockets.
ОтветитьAmazing! Thank you! I LOVE aprons! I'll have to make one of these too! This would be great with the nice large pockets! My eye was drawn to the 2 treadle sewing machines.... would love to know what they are (brand and model) and if you sew on them much! Have your done a video featuring them....?
ОтветитьClever and great instruction.
ОтветитьI absolutely love this apron! One suggestion for that large pocket would be to put a button on both sides & one button hole or plastic snaps on both sides, right in the middle, just to keep it a little closer to the body. Thank you for sharing your time and talents! You are SEW appreciated!
ОтветитьExactly what I was looking for!!! Thank you.
ОтветитьI wonder if this would be a good apron for craft vendors as well.
ОтветитьYou always give good direction in your project even for a beginner sewer. 🙏
ОтветитьLove it. I need to get sewing for next weeks BBQ. Thanks Laura
ОтветитьThis is ideal. I had to throw out half of my tops because I spilt stuff down them or stained them when cooking and cleaning. This tabard is just right because I don't necessarily need much protection below the waist, more on the front and a little way down the sleeves. Your diction, slower speech and simple explanations are excellent.
ОтветитьLinda Laura. Amei o projeto. Estava precisa de um projeto como esse prático e com uma didática impecável. Obrigada! 🤗🥰❤🌹
ОтветитьJust the apron pattern I’ve been looking for!! I wore an apron like this for work, and I loved it because it didn’t pull on my neck. Thank you so much.
ОтветитьYes, it is called a Cobblers Apron and it will be so wonderful to have it function for 4 holidays. I imagine Christmas fabric, thanksgiving and so on.
ОтветитьYou look especially beautiful today and I love your apron. 💜
ОтветитьBeautiful and excellent instructions
ОтветитьFabulous! I am an apron-using ranch girl and love collecting patterns and making aprons for myself and others. I find aprons with the narrow neck straps that either tie behind the neck or have the D-ring buckles are very uncomfortable for my neck, so I’m always looking for aprons with “shoulders” and this fits the bill.
Here’s a suggestion for securing the pocket gap … instead of using permanent machine stitches, (which prevents the pocket from being able to be turned to the other side) consider using snaps. I guess that’s the ranch girl coming out in me ;) . Hook and loop tape would be another option, but the hooks can be messy and frustrating if they aren’t covered during laundering.
I surely enjoy your varied video content as I do all types of sewing. Keep up the good work.
Ah! I will make it a gardening apron :) Thank you, teacher!
