I think the craziest part of this video is the fact that there was SO MUCH active traffic passing right through the ruins…. But no one is using anything in those ruins. It’s like they’re just kind of passing through a forest or something.

The place looks like $h!t, and it's falling apart, so you can tell the quality is bad, even for an unfinished building. But this is a common phenomenon in non-market countries. I don't give a F, good enough for government work. You wonder at what point in the project it was determined that there was never going to be an end-user, and so any further investment was just a waste. After that point they just expended the minimum possible input to keep the money flowing. We pretend to work, and they pretend to pay us.

Its so crazy to see China waste billions of dollars on infrastructure no one wants, while America desperately needs infrastructure improvements but we dont build bc it's "too expensive." It's like two sides of the same broken coin.

It was said in the video that they probably still use asbestos in China. This is true! China is in fact the world's leading consumer of asbestos.

Given the incredibly bad condition of the concrete after such a short period it is easy to see they cut serious corners in the recipe. I'm sure the cheap rebar is also in poor condition. These buildings will collapse soon enough.

Sadly, I think the whole thing is a terrible waste of cheap concrete and metal coat hangers.

its a shame a lot of abandoned places like this exist, so much money and its just left for dead, they almost look like glitches in reality, anomalies, things that shouldn't be there but they somehow are
