I'm reading mixed reviews about this monitor, is it still good and recommended?
ОтветитьIs it possible to fix it on a table with 10.5 cm thickness ?? I mean rather than fixing the four screws at the back, fix only 2 of them
ОтветитьGotta be honest, the cons make it sound like it is definitely NOT worth full price.
But it seems all the 32" monitors, even the Apple one have the same refresh rate.
Great Review...
ОтветитьFinally pulled the trigger and got one. Wanted to get a better price after seeing people get it for $300-$350, still regretting it a little but got it on Amazon for $499. Still might return it and get a used or open box one so far it’s great. I thought the quality wasn’t gonna be great but it’s solid!
ОтветитьWhat's the refresh rate you can find for this? I can only find the 30hz option when it connects with the included USB type-c cable.
ОтветитьYou can trust anyone who has a Payette Brewing Co. sticker on their laptop!
ОтветитьI bought one after watching this review, so thank you. I got mine on eBay for $300 refurbished (it was actually brand new) and love it.
ОтветитьSolid review. Not a second wasted.
ОтветитьI got this monitor a year or two back. I use the DP connection for my windows desktop which I am looking at, at the moment. The USB-C charges my M2 MacBook Pro no problem at all and I can switch it between the MacBook and Desktop very easily. I still marvel at how good this monitor is. Best thing I ever bought. It also saves room on the desktop so one keyboard and mouse is in use with the other one (I have the Apple Keyboard and Mouse as well as the Logitech mouse and keyboard wifi for my windows desktop). Yes, scaling for a Mac is just fine and I don't notice the 60Hz refresh and I have the pro motion MacBook Pro. It is hard to criticize as I use either external speakers for the Desktop in DisplayPort or I use my hearing aids for sound if the MacBook Pro is plugged in. I use a hub when using my Macbook which is plugged into the Macbook and of course the other USB-C is plugged into the monitor. It is pretty cool to just plug the MacBook in and away I go and it is charging so I don't have to worry about battery life. I do from time to time adjust the screen height and distance and it is very easy to do this. I can't imagine going back to a monitor just sitting on the desk, this is so much more desk friendly and it makes a big difference to me. I suppose the final point is...the resolution and colours and brightness are just fine on this monitor. Even going back and forth to the MacBook M2 Pro I have...yes I'm sure in HDR that the MacBook is better but it is still just a 14 inch screen. This screen is huge in comparison and it makes it much easier to work on. The bottom line is I smile every time I use this monitor even after owning it for quite some time.
ОтветитьBenQ PD205U is same specs. Better color accuracy. HDR. Same price.
ОтветитьYou can't rotate the OSD on LG monitors, which is very very stupid!
ОтветитьGreat review! Looking into this monitor for my Macbook Pro 14" and my Xbox for my dorm setup. You hit on all the points that I was thinking about.
For the contrast ratio, I was looking at the new "IPS Black" monitors from LG with 2000:1 contrast ratios, but they don't come in this "880" model and you'd also have to buy a stand separately, so it'd be much more expensive to go that route. In terms of refresh rates, it looks like I'd have to get a gaming monitor for a 120hz or higher screen, but none of those really have usb-c/power delivery or ergo arms. Looks like this is the best choice, all considered.
Is that mount friendly to glass desk?
ОтветитьIs it possible to use in vertical way and split twice the monitor? Thanks!
ОтветитьHow about when compared to Samsung m 8 and ASU’s pro art ?
ОтветитьTotally agree - excellent monitor
ОтветитьGreat review!
I use default scaling on my macbook 16 inch M1 to get a perfect trade-off between size text and working space on the built-in monitor.
Could you compare the text size of that monitor's native resolution (without scaling) and the text size on macbook built-in monitor with default scaling? Is there a difference?
Thanks in advance!
Sam, thanks for the excellent review. Pricing now doesn't seem to be what it was when you created this, unfortunately. I'm back and forth between waiting for the price to come down on this monitor (currently around $600) vs going for a Samsung 34" ViewFinity CJ79 ultrawide that can currently be had for $400. Can you comment on ultrawide vs 4k? I have a macbook air, and the ultrawide is temping since my computer can only support one external monitor rather than two side by side. On the other hand, I'm interested in the presumed superior text clarity on a 4k monitor.
thanks again
It won't deliver power if you Have MacBook Pro ! I just returned it because of this issue! 60 WATTS NOT ENOUGH! My Mac need 90 watts!
ОтветитьHi bro! I see you can control the brightness using your keyboard, is that out of the box? 😁
ОтветитьThis is a great video. Thank you! Might end up getting it. Is the resolution far off from your laptop? Do you find yourself missing that Macbook miniLED goodness when using this monitor? I have the same laptop as yours and I really enjoy the display. I just want a monitor that could give me a close enough experience without shelling out so much. Thank you!
ОтветитьDoes the monitor has KVM switch and PBP for connecting a windows computer to it?
Ответитьnice review 👍
ОтветитьNice vid. Congrat
ОтветитьI got mine last month, used for 2 weeks and USB-C port not worked. Sent back to LG service center but LG said no part can be replaced and they can’t replace a new monitor to me. At the end I just sent back to the store and get my refund.
ОтветитьI really like the stand, but looking at the LG site, alot of MacBook pro users claim the usb-c port will go dead over time. Please update if this happens to you. That being said, I think my 2022 MacBook Pro requires 90w for charging, relieved to hear this 60w will still hold a charge. Maybe this is also why these other claims?
ОтветитьWhy is it only for mac??
ОтветитьJust got mine. I noticed you were controlling the brightness of the monitor from your laptop. I have i connected to a 2019 mac mini and the keyboard brightness controls don't work. How did you get the latptop keys to work with the monitor? thanks!
ОтветитьIt’s expensive. I don’t see the deals out there.
ОтветитьGot mine last week, so far so good. Great vid, honest.
ОтветитьDoes it let u split screen?
Ответитьhello, may I know your desk size
ОтветитьI have 1 of these can you daisy chain these so i could get a second but still connect to macbook by 1 usb c cable?
ОтветитьPicked one up on eBay for $250 🎉
ОтветитьGreat review !! I ordered it yesterday 😊
ОтветитьI’m going to get this monitor!
ОтветитьIs this a 10 bit monitor? how far do you need to sit from the monitor for comfirtable viewing?
ОтветитьGot this too. Need to put hands on a computer to work with now.
ОтветитьI'm new to using thunderbolt and USB C for monitors. Since I don't have a laptop and this no need to charge the computer (using Mac mini) is it OK to connect the Mac mini to the monitor with a thunderbolt cable or is that port only meant for when I want to charge a device like a laptop?
ОтветитьWilling to share the name of the eBay seller?
ОтветитьSold. Sick of trying to find the perfect ppi monitor. MacOS is so annoying with scaling. I’m currently using an old LG 1440p and it’s blurry AF running at native resolution. The Ergo should still be a huge upgrade. When 5k/6k are more available, I’ll consider an upgrade. Great video!
ОтветитьI just bought one on Amazon refurbished for $370!!! Thank you brother !
Ответитьi have problem. the picture quality is very bad. first of all, the clarity of the text :(
ОтветитьThe speakers are terrible but your sound taste its excellent 👌🔊. Nice video, congratulations
ОтветитьHey this monitor is the best! I have it and have been using it for like 4months and I am really satisfied one thing thats different is the size i have the 27inch one
