Are Magic Bands worth it? Can they do anything my smart phone can’t?

Magicbands have not had batteries in them for 5 years. the current non plus ones have no battery at all.

Have you ever made a video talking about how staff members at Disney can give away up to three free tickets to parks on particular dates (depending on the park/date availability)?? Because I’m going to Disney world next week and we’re actually being allowed in as three guests of a cast member. I’m still very lost with how I’m supposed to still be able to use the Disney experience app to link my “lightning lane/genie rides/reservations for park days with my family”. If she got free tickets, are we even able to get a magic band to use that day or even the app, lightning lane especially? I’m very lost with the details of this. If you could shed some light on this for me even in a reply, that’d be great! Unless you’ve already made a vid about this sorta thing but I’m just wanting to make sure everything will be in order so I don’t miss out on anything (especially Pandora, that’s the #1 thing I’m going for!!) 😮🎉❤

Magic Bands are no longer free to Disney hotel guests. They are discounted but the one and only cheapest was $20. Most are $35.

Here’s a tip if you have little ones: you can peel off the back part to make the band smaller. ( once you take it off you can’t put it back on)

This is all quite outdated. Magic Bands are no longer free, and they aren’t $10 anymore either. Plan on $15-$25 per band. The Magical Express is also no longer offered. For a family of four, this is a $128 new cost for a round trip ticket to/from the airport using the Mears bus…or around $200 if a taxi is used,

Hey AJ, is there any way guest may request that they have traditional room swipe cardkeys, and QR codes or similarly to gain access to FastPass and other services/rides/restaurant reservations? I just feel super uncomfortable relying on one piece of technology for both my room AND rides. If that Magic Band malfunctions or glitches and powers off, I don't want to be locked out of my room, and become a hassle for Cast Members. I just think the Magic Band idea is great in theory, but only creates more problems. Plus, I don't want my movements tracked in the parks, too, so there's privacy concerns... Does Disney do this at all, like give out alternative solutions to room keys, like an actual credit-card type swipe cardkey??

I bought one for me through the mydisney app and it automatically linked it to my account. I bought one for my husband through shop disney and it did not have it linked. Thankfully I checked both before we are going. But that is definitely something to check before you go!

Does everyone in you group need a magic band?, say if one person in the group wants to go on a ride by there self so wants a fast pass for a ride that doesn’t have a single rider queue but they are not the wearer of the magic band can you give the magic band to them or is that kind of cheating the system ?

If your magic band is over 2 years old and you don’t want to buy a new one just for in rude photos how do you get your rude photos?
Do you just have to look through the screen to find your photo then tap, does the card you get (for international guests) sufficient at the job, do I need to get a plain Coloured magic band and change over the pucks or is there another way? Just want to know before I go next year.

Looking for help here. We had the plain ones for a family reunion in 2018 and I think half the family just threw them out when they went home. If we go back and they never got deactivated how big of a problem is that?

Hi, last year I was going to go to Disney but got cancelled due to covid. We were going to do a Disney hotel so we could do the wrist bands as well but now we're trying for the SECOND time but we aren't staying on Disney property but I still really want to use the wrist band for purchasing food and items. Is there still a way I can do that?
