What really causes lipedema, lymphedema, and lipolymphedema?

If only more had been known about this in the 70's and 80's. My parents always wondered (so did I) how a child/teen could be so active non stop and eat healthy, but keep swelling and gain weight. So many years of being made fun of, being called names, and low self esteem. I'm in my fifties now, but so blessed to have found one of the best and few specialists who truly understands lipo lymphoedema. She is caring and compassionate, Dr. Marcia Byrd. So thankful she is helping me on this journey.
