Great reaction video, KL! I really enjoyed your enthusiasm for the battle on Scarif, and that you like Baze and Chirrut- they were my favorite characters in this movie. I agree that Cassian was not particularly interesting in this film, though I highly recommend the series Andor. Cassian is much more riveting in the series.
ОтветитьIt is the right reaction to the hallway scene (with Vader). Staring in silence and shock. More honest, than other people's reaction.
Ответитьchirrut îmwe, the best character with the smallest time to develop. may the force be with him. always.
ОтветитьMan, screw General Jan Dodanna, the gu who said "Weve analyzed the Death Star plans and found a weakness". Yeah, the opened the plans and there was a big red arrow that said "SHOOT HERE, signed Gaylen Urso, p.s. I loved my daughter" and Dodanna was like 'Hey I found it!'
ОтветитьThe most frustrating part about this movie is that it's PROOF Disney could make good Star Wars movies. And then they deliberately keep choosing NOT TO....
ОтветитьI just realized that when Chrut (I misspelled that) dies he finishes his prayer “im one with the force and the force is with me look for the force and you’ll always find me”
ОтветитьThis a well crafted movie. I own it. I just don't really get the hype for it. It's my least favorite Star Wars movie. Like I can barely sit through even reactions for it. You said it yourself. No reason to really get invested. But, I liked certain scenes. I liked the original callbacks and Vader scenes the best.
Ответитьwhat is that picture handing on the wall??? the first one. Looks so creepy and artistic but still gosh that is so creepy af
ОтветитьThis movie is one of the best star wars movies but the truth is that the weight of this movie is pretty much non-existent. It's an artificial demand predicated on past movies that it has no connection to. Even though it's the events of the death star plans getting to the rebels, it just doesn't earn that weight. It feels like a story from the extended universe novels which is probably why I like it so much but I'd have preferred a stand alone story with these characters, rather than what they attempted to do and failed. I am a long time star wars fan, back when we had only the original trilogy and a whole library of stories in the extended universe. It's in my top three star wars movies but I think the direction they went felt forced.
ОтветитьSo glad you liked Rogue One. I highly recommend the Andor series on Disney+ as well. I didn't see reactions to it in your list of videos, so if you haven't watched it yet, please do! It is my favorite Star Wars content out of everything Star Wars and I've been a fan since I saw the original in the theaters as a youngling in 1977. I think you would appreciate the story, intrigue, and aesthetic of the show. It is so well crafted, well written, and well acted imo. Unlike anything we've gotten from SW so far, but also very familiar. I'm sorry I shouldn't hype it up so much. But I do love it. Anyway, if you give it a try, just know that it is basically written as one whole story told in 3-4 episode arcs. So if an episode feels mostly like set up, that's OK because it is...and the payoff is coming! Also, those "set-up" episodes do a lot for character development. Alright, anyway, just wanted to throw in my recommendation for Andor since it wasn't out yet when you reacted to Rogue One. Hope you'll watch it!
ОтветитьI don't think anyone can fully understand why the last 5 minutes of this movie are so deeply moving unless they saw Star Wars as a kid in 1977. "Rogue One" is basically a love letter to the first film, and it hits hardest for those of us whose profound love of Star Wars began before it was even called "A New Hope".
ОтветитьSomething no one ever talks about, but they have re-created Peter Cushing's voice perfectly.
ОтветитьThis movie feels like a gritty war amongst the stars. It is so well done. You get a better feel for Saw Gerrera if you remember his origin during the clone wars. Really adds to his character and why he seems like he trusts no one now.
ОтветитьI really enjoyed this movie. A really good lead-in to A New Hope. Sadly, Carrie Fisher passed away the day after I saw this in the theaters. Seeing her younger self at the end made that even more heartbreaking for me.
Ответить.......⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.......
ОтветитьMost of the "returning" characters are CGI
ОтветитьVader has puns now.
ОтветитьI mentioned The Iron Giant in my last comment on the channel, he’s my favourite robot in pop culture, but while I’m not certain where I’d rank him, K2SO is in my Top 5, maybe second after the Giant, guess I have a thing for big robots with a desire to protect who they love. 😂
His sacrifice like the IG is too sad to watch, especially seeing as he’s only had one film.
Red Five gets killed above Scariff- opening the position for a certain farm boy to take that slot in an X-Wing in A New Hope.
ОтветитьI love the "There is No Horizon"! With the tidal wave of a planet arcing up and over the ship. Seeing these movies on the Big Theater Screen would blow your mind with the visuals like these instead of the large home theater screen.
ОтветитьYou are absolutely correct in saying this is a war movie. Though the comparison you made is different than how most see it. A lot of people see this more as a Vietnam war parallel, whereas the originals were more WW2. Either way it makes sense and I like your interpretation.
Tarkin, who was originally played by the late Peter Cushing, was digitally recreated and yet somehow the gravitas of Mr Cushing still showed through and gave the character that extra oomph as you describe it. Krennic was just another imperial jackass with desire for power, I completely agree that he was not the most memorable of villains.
I do wonder if Krennic had any ironic final thoughts about how "beautiful" the destructive power of the Death Star was from the other end of the beam ^.~
One thing I didn't consider when watching this, but saw numerous people comment on later, was how it changes the opening scenes of "A New Hope". Leia lying about the Tantive IV being a diplomatic ship looks unbelievably brazen when Vader must be thinking, "I literally followed you here from that huge battle at Scariff!"
Rogue one is very good but yes I see why it is not as emotionnaly charged because we didn't spend 3 movies with them. I agree 100%.
ОтветитьI remember thinking everyone but me seemed to hate this when it came out! I think it's one of the best Star Wars movies.
ОтветитьYou MUST see the new Andor trailer!
Ответитьcalling rogue one a political statement is extremely questionable lmao
ОтветитьK2 is the best. Closest thing to HK-47 a film will ever see.
Ответить3.9
ОтветитьThis is my favorite one of all the Star Wars. I’m 51, and I’ve grown up with 4,5,6 episode. Return Of the Jedi is now my 2nd favorite.
Ответитьits not the loss of characters we cried over, it's the connection to a new hope. we lost it over.
ОтветитьThe Vader scenes will never get old for me
ОтветитьVery close to being my favorite Star Wars movie. My only little gripe, at the beginning: what ever happened to stormtroopers setting blasters on stun when they wanted to capture people?
ОтветитьWow! Is correct haha. I still remember going to see Rogue One on opening night. This is such an awesome movie. So many callbacks and easter eggs. It's so fitting to call it Episode 3.5. I would say that Cassian was my favorite character in this movie. Can't wait till his Disney+ show comes out.
ОтветитьYeah Rogue One is overhyped a bit. It's enjoyable. The finale 3rd is the best part, much better than the rest.
ОтветитьI don't think this is episode 3.5. More like 3.99!
ОтветитьThis is really the only new Star Wars film that I actually like.
ОтветитьWeakest rogue one reaction i've seen.
