Ukraine is not russia. Most songs video from this film show Ukrainian culture like similar with russian, but in fact they very different. USSR appropriated the achievements of other nations. In reality the Soviet authorities were doing the genocide of nations who were living in USSR, russifying other cultures, were killing all who were against the soviet government… “working people” were living poorly, while politicians were by the rich. So the title is completely incorrect. Obviously it is russian propaganda. Also interesting is the fact that the video was published on 12 of March 2022 (the war in Ukraine was started on 24 of February). Make your own conclusions.

This is quite sugarcoated, probably from the soviet government who would not have allowed people to film within the USSR with a critical eye. Out of everywhere in the USSR, Moscow had the highest quality of life by far. Most people did not have apartments with a bathroom and kitchen, those were shared, often times by a floor of people if you were lucky to have an apartment. Moscovites had the most access to benefits. Go out to more rural areas or other soviet countries and youll have found a much lower standard of living, often times a single room for the entire family. Also it's interesting in Siberia they left out the part that a lot of people in siberia are there because their family was forced there by stalin as punishment or due to their ethnicity.

Life in the Soviet Union was just a practice implemented by force. But when it comes to ideology itself current situation proved that it's the best ideology created by humankind. Justice, equality, free education, free Healthcare system.

This documentary is describing Romania to a tee. One has to understand that this documentary is not showing the real face of communism, which is lack, lack and more lack. They make it look so bucolic and ideal It's just a facade. Also, none of the peasents liked collective farming. They hated it. They were forced into it. If you stood up and said no they would've shot you dead or jailed you. Also these peasants, people were terrified of the authorities to tell the real truth of the government and how they may have a really hard life. They would've been beaten, put in jail or killed if they really spoke their minds. I know all of this because I'm from Eastern Europe, one of the Soviet block countries. It was called block for a reason. You were literally blocked in there. My father visited Russia in the early 80's and while he said he really liked Moscow he said that people had to get government permission to go from one city to another. My parents were forced to learn Russian as all students had to in Eastern Europe. Very different from our language, was hard to learn.

Slava Bogu! Gospedi Pomilui after so much blood, and 70 years of forced atheism - illegal to be religious! - they are now finding their God-bearing roots of Holy Orthodoxy - apostles to the world through their great wide, suffering souls - the diaspora with St John of Shanghai and San Francisco's blessing scattered throughout the world, suffering the sins of apostacy, and now, slowly the lands of Kieven Rus wake up to their roots - deep from the bones of their ancestors, the salt of the earth. God save us, Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on us.

I think I would have been quite happy in 1984 USSR. So many good and compassionate ideas, people seemed to really believe in one another, and in the success of everyone for the greater good of all. It may have been far from perfect, but it is inspiring that they got as far as they did prioritizing science, technology, and social progress. I hope someday that the spirit of these times can once again inspire so many people to believe in humanity not as superstitious, greedy, subjects,to be bought and sold, but as educated, equal participants of a system where all can be afforded respect and evidence based social cooperation that lifts everyone up.

This is one bit of ugly propaganda - i'm surprised it's not mentioned anywhere. Over the top idylic depiction of the soviet union when it's perfectly known back from and to this day from REAL people who actually lived in more places than just russia, that those years were marked by stagnation, lack of goods and hunger, while the television was spitting cynical tales such as this one from the video. Second, calling "russia" Ukraine and Belorus just shows even more how this movie was made by either complete blind and ignorant idiots, or more likely comissioned by the kremlin or forces friendly to it. Same bullshit as 'the american dream', yet the latter, in my oppinion - as a strong oposer to hegemonic and imperalist forces as usa and russia - was probably more real than this, what is shown here. Another thing is that yes, perhaps life in russia, where the soviet power was centralized wasn't that bad, and that's why this brainwashed "simple people" nation still misses those times, but anywhere in the peripheries it was far idillyc and great as it is depicted in this shameful piece of soviet propaganda. Last, not a single mention of how oppressed and robotized people lived there, but of course, "everybody had everything, and everything was cheap and accessible to everyone".. well, think for yourself how fun is it to live in a world where "going to the theater" means watching doll-like people dance their folk dances

The Soviet collapse was a tragedy to Humanity. It's always an historical reverse, when primitive nationalisms and life styles based on decadent materialism prevail. Not to mention the ressurgence of Religions, like Christianity. The wrong people are those who thrive with such collective options. Unfortunately, the USSR, ruled as a centralized totalitarian state, was in the hands of a few people, who, when becoming too corrupt, would end the regime, to protect and amplify their own personal interests. Which is what happened.
