Not sure about July reading yet. It’s very much depends on the weather. We are not having a summer here …yet! 15 degrees and overcast. I had dreams of sitting in sunshine reading.

Lovely video! I plan on reading The Bee Sting, Prophet Song and Tom Lake for fiction and Fire Weather for nonfiction in July.

I really enjoyed Sound of the Sea and thought it was fantastic, hope you do as well. And you're right about Why Fish Don't Exist, that's a tough one to classify neatly haha

'At Loggerheads' piqued my interest; I'm adding it to my tbr. I read 'Why Fish Don't Exist' after hearing you raving about it and you were absolutely right: it was wonderful! (and I was shocked by the twist)

The Glass Castle IS as good as everyone says it is. The opening still gets me, perhaps ten years after I read it.

Great video! Interested on your nonfiction cult reads. I have been fascinated by cults since reading the fiction book 'It's Not a Cult' - Lauren Danhof. It has a low goodreads rating, but i found it so entertaining

Love that you always have some under the radar books. All the fiction sound intriguing.

As always so many good recommendations. Why Fish don't exist goes straight onto my POP. And I'm going to check out the Jeanette Walls novel. I loved The Glass Castle and I can also recommend Half Broke Horses, which I possibly enjoyed even more. Have a good reading month!

The Glass Castle just made me angry frustrated and very uncomfortable. I can’t say I liked it. As my grandkids say it was “cringy”.

At Loggerheads sounds interesting and a little different, looking forward to hearing your thoughts in the wrap up. I read Why Fish Don't Exist a few years ago based on your rave review and it was quite interesting, sadly I kinda knew "the twist" as I'd studied a lot of other scientists in that era. I normally go hard in Jane Austen July but this year only reading a couple, though am excited to read an annotated version with a lot of historical details.

I've read Glass Castle twice! I love her writing style and her whole approach to telling the story about her childhood. CANNOT wait to hear your thoughts.
I see The Sound of The Sea is on Everand as an audio book so I will definitely give that a listen ❤

Your reviews take me back to elementary school in the early 1970s. Every few weeks we would get a flyer from Scholastic books about all the books in their catalog so that you might choose what you wanted to buy. It was thrilling, so thriling, to learn about the different books, choose the ones YOU wanted, and order them. When they arrived it was the best thing about school. Your reviews are the closest thing to that experience. And the only problem is the same. After watching your show I always wish I could own and read all the books you talk about.

The Sound of the Sea sounds great. I am fortunate that I only live 15 minutes from the beach. Google the Jurrasic coast to see!
