Great video .. thanks. I needed to do a little more to my 2.7d 2005. At the last step I saw the error message..cannot apply parkbrake. I had to start the engine. Press the foot brake in as far as possible and then apply the park brake. Bingo! Without the engine start I was stuck.

You can just disconnect the battery and replug it works the same if it doesn't fix the issue do what the video says

Nice one ! Thank you for this video it worked pretty much exactly like you showed. I can now get my car to a mechanic and get the cable greased or replaced. ( 20 year old brake cable is probably the reason for the problem) 👍👍

You were lucky, it worked. If you don't have any mechanical or electrical problem with EPB you should do adaptation this system. It is enough to press the brake pedal 5 times, then press it, while holding it, engage the handbrake and release the pedal.There is no magic ;)

I gotta say, it didn't work on my 04 Jaguar xJ8, the first time, but i un hooked the battery for about 20 mins, then repeated your steps of put in drive, then apply the brake, then release the brake and it worked.. Thanks!!

Had one of these on test drive today. That amber light was on but under it said windscreen fluid low. The dealer said when it gets topped up that light will go off but I honestly didn't believe him. Was he telling the truth or was I right to walk away? It's been nagging me all day now because I loved how it drove and kinda want to buy the car but this amber light put me off.i asked him could he top off the water and show me the light go off but he said there is no water taps around. I should have said "il go buy a bottle of water" but it never came to mind at the time??

So I just had similar issues but it had abs fault low break fluid and park brake fault. Same fix or something more complex?

Try this ...... put car into drive ...place foot on brake and keep it there .....take key out ..
Keeping foot on brake at all times .....take key out of ignition... lock door with remote....open door with remote ...keeping foot on brake ..

Put key in ignition ..start engine , ...hey presto ...works on mine...but as I said , keep your foot on brake throughout ,

I have a Jaguar S-type 2.7D and when I start the car, the following messages appear on the dashboard: ABS fault, DSC not available, apply foot and hand brake. And there is always an orange light on. The handbrake is not working, it does not brake. And when the car is in motion, something starts beeping and only stops beeping when the car is not moving ...
I put in a new 85Ah battery and the messages: ABS fault and DSC not available disappeared, but after 2 days they appeared again, so I put in another new battery but this time I put in a 95Ah battery, but the messages this time did not disappear and the brake still does not work ....
Will it be possible to solve something if I do the video procedure? Or will even more error messages appear?

I got a 06 Jaguar S-Type new motor lift kit custom rims custom stereo system it's been in storage for 2 years I just brought it back up and I drove it around no problem but now it started acting up brake light coming on check engine light I changed all the relays in the trunk about to change all the relays under the hood next but I just replace that box is on his way

I did that and it didn't work so I just order another brake assist sensor I ordered a new one of those boxes

hi my 2004stype says parking brake fault after new battery fitted .do you leave engine running to do this

I fixed it thanks to your video,but a few months later it came back on when the car was in park and running on un level ground,and turning up a driveway, what do you think,thanks gary.
