Into the wild is my favorite movie !and Natalie you are so lucky that you have the opportunity to do what you like although your parents are materialistic（mine too but even worse,which is gross) I envy you so much because it’s almost impossible for me to get away from my current life and travel in a van due to the environment and people and society .but I’m pretty sure I’m gonna do it no matter what happens

I think people have to many luxary items now a days. We have: tv,smartphones,creditcards,we can buy food in a grocery store,we can turn on the faucet and clean water flows out,we have i pads,tablets Electric blanket,s ectra. We live in a luxury world these days and i wonder if we are losing the simplicity to live i a van or go camping over luxary on and in live

Because of you my fourteen years old self wants to start working even more ,i always liked the idea of living out of not much and i looked up for vans and i found one that if i worked seven hour a week at 15 some $ the hour i would take me less then a year likelike wtf?! Its so cheap and if i was in legal age of buying it i would without hesitation!

Sounds romantic... but living in a van sucks -- unless your are already wealthy and can drop $50 - $100 K on a nice vehicle.

I really wish I could do same. Living away from materialistic happiness and away from social obligations but there are too many constraints which make it so difficult to do this. I suddenly cried the second you mentioned Chris McCandless Into the Wild story because I have been greatly affected by it too and it hurts me daily that I would probably never live like that. Great video by the way, please keep creating. I have no one around to talk about this stuff they all say I'm idiotic so I watch these videos/movies and feel like living in the scene with the person and it all comforts me. You may even inspire me someday to leave this shit behind to live a van life. This video touched my heart and soul, or say it almost pierced right through me. Love from India ^_^

You spent your "life savings"??? At 18 you can't have life savings.
Even if you started working, and saving at age 10 ... it's not a life time.
Life savings imply that you saved money over 10, 20 or 30 years.
