Only thing that honestly annoys me as a groomer, anything with a quarter of an inch of hair can get matted or coat build up causing impacted coat. Cat's should be groomed professionally every four to eight weeks. while doing daily to every other day maintance at home from their owners to make professional grooming more sucessful. As for the sphynx and having no hair they actually require more upkeep than the longer hair breeds due to oil build up clogging their pores.

I recommend adopting cats from animal shelters and asking the employees of the shelter the temperament of the cats and for example are good family pet with dogs. Animal shelters will tell you way more about animals than most breeders. You don't want to get an animal from a breeder then it ends up not being the right fit for your environment and people you live with have to rehome them. If you don't have much time to be home find a short hair cat that doesn't mind being left alone alot Is well liter box trained most these cats are high maintenance on this list.

I've had persians my whole life (I'm 46) and they're such amazing companions that I can't imagine not having one. I did also have a turkish angora and 2 maine coons at one point, they were all really cool cats too ... but the persians will always rule my heart.

Wrong. The best cat is one with a funny backstory. For example, I found mine in a cornfield.

Ragdolls are the best. Easy maintenance, gorgeous, ridiculously laid-back lap cats who just want to be loved. Ragdoll name comes from their behaviour to flop like a ragdoll when held. I can't think of another breed that is so readily to be held so easily.

I have a rag doll cat and she is the most sweetest most best cta ever

One thing you glossed over is that Bengals are hybrid cats...very sociable and non-aggressive hybrid cats, but hybrids nonetheless. They are a cross between a Domestic Shorthair and the wild Asian Leopard Cat.
Currently, I have a Russian Blue. Very sweet, smart and loyal cats... but not the best fit for all families. They are highly sensitive to loud noises and changes in their environment, so they're weary around strangers and don't do well with rowdy households.

I'm into my rescued Snow shoe cat. She's a lover not a fighter And she's made for the sheets not the streets (sleeps in my bed all day, no interest in the great outdoors. Homebody, like me)

We used to have a mix of American shorthaired and Siamese and he was the sweetest cat but got too excited to go out of the house and was probably stolen/sold 🥺
