Man I trained with him once, I felt like shit he is freaking good and strong too, i am heavy weight too man 90kg with gi he is awesome
ОтветитьI always found half guard too fuckn complex to execute, need a lot of patience and timing unlike the close guard for example, i don't think is worth the effort if you are looking for a new game plan ( this make more sense for short guys tbh) unless you´re really used to
Ответитьgoofy, humble, joyful -- like my Labrador
Ответитьdude thanks for making this video. Thank you coach Bernardo. Never met you but learned so much. I love jiu jitsu. Can't thank you enough. You have been very instrumental to my development. I'm a 1 stripe blue belt after training for 14 months. Oss.
ОтветитьDon’t forget braulio estima was also a pioneer of lapel guard stuff
Ответить👏👏👏
ОтветитьBernardo gets the respect he deserves on the mat
ОтветитьDude.. "Well liked"... That's an understatement..
That guy is admired, respected and appreciated beyond measure.
This is a Huge Honor for you to mention Bernardo and whats up with this “was a Beast” stuff ? he is still a beast! don’t believe me ? fuck around and find out for yourself
ОтветитьWhy did sprigg get two points for bernardo pulling guard 🤔
ОтветитьLove his under over pass
ОтветитьThe over/under pass is hard to pull off nowadays - people push on your head. Bernardo even mentions that in a video he does with Gordon
ОтветитьThank you bringing respect to Bernardo. He is such a beast. Definitely my idol as a pesadissimo
Ответитьnice study about thecnices of the mister halfguard itself
ОтветитьHuge honor for me.... Iron sheik said it first!
ОтветитьI'll never forget. My whole game is a dedication and cheap knock off.
ОтветитьAmazing!!!
ОтветитьGreat video! One of my favorite BJJ athletes who I looked up to coming up. A lot of the newer practitioners only know him from his Fanatics work - but a great reminder of his championship pedigree. The look on Lovato’s face says it all…
ОтветитьNo surprise, he trained with Hugh Johner
ОтветитьBernardo's style is basically the fundamental of my jiu jitsu game since I was a white belt. Being 40 year old, I find his techniques are the best for older grapplers because how simple but very effective they are.
ОтветитьLove Bernardo. Such a beast. Not pretty jiu jitsu at all just grind n grind. Someone once told me he didn’t know how to shrimp. Not sure if true or not.
ОтветитьBERNARDO IS A BEAST, don't let the friendly humbleness fool you.
ОтветитьHuge honor!
ОтветитьHe also liked doing the straight knee bar from over under passing :) great video
ОтветитьHe was one of the absolute best in the world for a few years and always gave some all time legends some tough battles. I always wanted to see more of him in no gi just to see how he did. Awesome athlete.
ОтветитьGood call!
ОтветитьEven in his rolling footage, he pulls half guard and runs the same sequences. The dude is an absolute master at what he does and exemplary of what can be accomplished with pure fundamentals.
ОтветитьIt was a huge honour watching this video.
ОтветитьHuge honor for us 🥋
ОтветитьOf course he's well liked he sounds like fozzy bear lol
ОтветитьGreat video. I still use his deep half to over under pass combination.
ОтветитьI remember when I first started at MGA Bernardo had just arrived. I had no idea who he was or really much about the BJJ scene. Then I watched him run through world class competitors and it looked basically the same as how he did it to colored belts in the gym.
ОтветитьThe highest submission rate i saw watching that era. RIP but he was the only one that dominated Leandro and submitted
Ответить👏👏
ОтветитьSuch great techniques luv deep half and half guard and use pressure passing but Bernardo is the best
ОтветитьI feel we forget about Bernardo sometimes. Just Smashing top level guys and holding them down for minutes at time.... then strangling them lol.
ОтветитьGi bjj is so silly
ОтветитьOn point
ОтветитьWhen reading the title: "Duh!" ;)
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьWow great honour for me.
ОтветитьBernardo is like the joke character in an anime that could actually wipe out 99% of the cast if they wanted
Ответить🔥🔥🔥🔥
ОтветитьErberth made him cry
ОтветитьHe was a pioneer. He not only put his opponents to sleep but the spectators too
ОтветитьIt’s cause bro trained with everyone 💀
ОтветитьHe also gave great battles to Rodolfo and Buchecha when they were the cream of the crop, not winning for an hair against both in at least an occasion. Such an underrated player.
