There have been studies done involving teen FGM survivors who immigrated to Europe as children (as if it would help her be a wife there 🤦‍♀️) & among these girls some had been SO traumatized by going through this most definite SEVERE form of SEXUAL ABUSE that they developed Dissociative Idenity Disorder. Literal DID. That’s how traumatizing this is. That’s just the worst case scenario. PTSD is the norm. And these ppl think this makes these ladies into well adjusted feminine members of their culture… I can’t. Screw it all. Why are so many ppl, half them women themselves, so effing determined to destroy the lives of women. To keep them close to the ground. To keep them from ever rising up or becoming strong. Their own daughters. Their own descendants. This isn’t about god lol. It isn’t about wanting to secure them a husband. This is about a culture that spans across cultures and centuries made up of countless ppl who want to ENSURE that change for our girls will always remain prevented. In whatever way possible.

Seeing the the girl (toddler even) lying on the ground, held down by several hands, legs spread out, defiantly crying while a razor blade is being held out in front of her, is heartbreaking. This barbaric tradition needs to stop.
