These kind of videos make me realise that people really have no patience with games nowadays. They just look for the easiest way to do anything. Maybe I'm getting old, but earning your gear in games is part of the fun. In fact, to me that IS the whole game. You work towards acquiring equipment, building your character, and finishing the story. And it's not like it's a massive challenge to earn gold in BG3 anyway, you just sell all the junk you find, and you'll make enough gold to buy pretty much anything you want. The game even provides a theft mechanic specifically for people who want to RP as cheaters and thieves, you just need to spec into Stealth/Sleight of Hand if you enjoy that kind of playstyle. Yet people still would rather skip the whole "playing the game" part and just move the loot straight into their inventory.

I'm not blaming the video creator btw, there is clearly an audience for these kind of glitches, so it makes sense to post a video. It's just baffling to me that these kind of players even exist. Seems so pointless. I bet if there was a way to get legendaries from bosses without actually fighting them, people would jump on it immediately lol. Well, if that's what makes the game fun for ya'll, glhf

Just build a dedicated rogue and grab the proper gear it’s hard to get caught then. What are you even buying to need this u can steal everything with the right build and it goes online act 1 very early

Is this glitch "cheating"? I dunno. I guess? But it's also using a part of the game IN THE GAME. I use this in honor mode for 1 reason: So I don't have to spend hours vacuuming up every piece of crap just to sell. Could I get the same items with gold? Sure, but this saves SO much time.

It took about 30min on beating on Raphael. I had to recast SILENCE about 6 times. I set a timer for 5min to be sure it didn't run out.
Melee is faster (quicker animation).

Thank you, I hate looting, I'd rather spend the very limited time I have to play games fighting or doing story stuff, not "shopping/pan handling simulator" so thank you so much. Strategy should be I'm combat more than your wallet

Doesn't work for me, after exiting dialog the bag pop-up appears for half a second and it closes, not letting me grab the stuff

I'm so happy I made it a habit on all my old campaigns to get 100000 gold at the first vendor with the shift glitch, why do they do this to us? Who cares if we have a little easier time getting gold

Just get e thief in your roster and have fun stealing from merchant. It's nice gameplay (sometime you have to find tricks to steal some merchants, fun searching them) and roleplay

Unfortunately this method has been patched as hotfix #20 made it so you can’t open up containers with companions who didn’t initiate the trade. Looks like we will be looking for a new way to scam traders! 😅
