I bought all of these short stories on DVD a few years ago. It's good to see them. I know them since my childhood. But it is Germany as the first defeated nation. I always found it hilarious that these knights are more like robots. It is such a good humor.

The first opponent is Sweden. The goal keeper's shield with golden eagle on blue ground.

God help me. I haven't watched this in 20 years. Still makes me smile :p

I watched this cartoon when I was a child (5-6 years old). Now I'm 25, and watch it again :D

No doubt, the first country is Rzeczpospolita, or Polish-Lituanian Commonwealth, it is polish knights and Catolic priest. The second is France(musketeers, stereotype french style) and the third one is England(Island, queen, rain, Big-Ben).

The knights have the best music by far.

knights & castles + Catholicism = Poland or maybe Austria, but I've never heard of Austria having a national football team. geographically any of those places make more sense than Sweden (a notoriously un-religious country)

@obolubov, that is interesting info because I don't read cyrillic. I used to think German because of the castles and the military style of playing. But now I notice a lot of catholic references (both the referee and nurse), making me lean towards Italy. Of course France and England no doubt.

It's not said explicitly. On the score boards the teams are called Knights, Musketeers, and Island (it's written there in Ukrainian). But I also when watching this cartoon before used to think the Knights were Germans.

Wow! The forecast for the first game was totally correct! Sweden scored first, but then Ukraine found its game and won 2:1. Looking forward to see 13:3 against England!
