Last one is the best if you're wanting your place to look nice for videos and stuff but I would have chosen the pink one. loved the location and size. I would have asked the owners if I could paint it if I paid for it though. Not a huge fan of the pink but still so nice.

I'm curious about why you had so few responses. I've lived here since 1998, have lived in six rentals and have never experienced that, always got responses right away. Can't tell what you reached out with but if anyone is using this to look i'd say be concise and interested. Tell them who will be living there, what you do, if you have regular hours, your expectations for the building reflect your lifestyle (i.e. working and expect to not be woken up through the night) and a bit about you (are you long or short term, do you know or are attached to the area, what type of work you do). Landlords don't like wasting their time (neither do you, looking for a place suuucks) so they can tell you'll be a fit (like if you say no party buildings landlord may think you're uptight and that is totally cool, process of elimination). Be sincere, why you're looking and they'll likely reach you if they think you're a good candidate. Unfortunately, being roommates may be one of your issues as some landlords can see that as unstable. Age, unfortunately, can also impact (i was discriminated against many times as was young when i was on my own and it was very unfair as i've always been a unfun person who doesn't party). Also: condos and houses are bogus because people can displace you easily. Take many calming baths, cry a lot and try not to freak out, finding a decent, affordable rental is a tough time.

I didn't want to originally but now I got a 2-floor house, upstairs: 1 master bedroom. 2 smaller bedrooms, living room, full bathroom, and a kitchen. downstairs: 1 master bedroom, 1 living room, half bathroom, laundry room. Plus we got a huge backyard for only $2100 in Richmond.

Works great for me and my roommate, we rarely see each other other than when I'm upstairs cooking or going for a shower.

Damnnn the pink one was gaudy but fascinating, I actually really want to know more about the history of that building! Like why is the bathtub designed that way? Why did the owners install mirrors everywhere? I would not live there (if I couldn't repaint the walls) but I'd definitely have checked the place out too just to see it too. I agree that the last place was the best, the fact that it was a 2 bath immediately made it so much more worth it!

Vancouver is ridiculously high rents. Young people are just used to it , suites used to cost under 1000 for 2 or 3 bedroom. Now greedy landlords charge extras 50 to 100 for parking ? Wtf is that ? I live here so I park here screw that clown and than bs . When you rent it should have on site parking or reasonable close parking for FREE. Vancover is not worth it for me to pay 2000 or more for a suite because I got a mortage for under 1200 my payments. It's greeedy landlords who have jack up rents in vancover. It's ridiculous really. Many can not even afford their own suite. I see suites with 4 to 6 people rent together. Ya great if you want to start a cult but I want privacy ..Renting is a vicious cycle and it's getting worse because many owners are make suites and rooms as greedy and demand top dollar for most average nothing special suites
People have to be careful when looking for suites. Many landlords live in the same house and basement suites are the worst you hear pounding on floor or loud children ect ect and many owners control the heat and they are CHEAP and also nosey owners as well . Basement suites are a last resort really . It sucks paying the mortgage on a house that ain't yours. Yes renters pay the mortgage for others. Especially in Vancouver because it's so expensive to buy here and many owners are struggle for cash , this alley shack craze is ridiculous. Laneway shacks that they want 2000 a month to rent is another crazy part of vancovers housing crisis
Pay landlord extra for parking and also many ask , how many person?? Oh 4 of us will live here , oh 4 of you means instead of 2000 rent you pay me 3000 for extra wear and tear on my home 🏡. It's crazy really. Housing is getting more ridiculous here. It will only get worse
