I now have Android 13 on my Samsung Galaxy S20 Note Ultra and it's not that different from Android 12 which I have on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S6. What I've noticed about Android however has to do with data collection which I refer to as "snooping". Android treats an SD card as a separate entity unlike Windows which treats it as another drive. Kit-Kat actually BLOCKED me from accessing the SD card and it was hellaciously difficult to put data on it. You could read, but not write. This created such a hulabaloo hat they changed it back to the system currently used which is still inordinately difficult. That's because data stored on the SD card cannot be seen by the network administrator at Google and is therefor completely secure from knowledge by advertisers as to what you have on your phone or tablet. The scheme now is not to include an SD card capability so that everything is visible to the Network Administrator at Google and thus the advertising department. Consequently all my data is on an SD card in my two devices and I will not use or purchase a phone that does not have SD card capability. Android has graduated from a mobile OS into a very slick full bodied operating system that will do just about everything a good desktop does. In fact, it handles Bluetooth connected devices far superior to any Windows or Apple device currently.

I love how almost every version has a dessert/sweet as the name. Saying, "Hey, I just got the new Android KitKat" Is Wayyyyy better than saying, "Hey I just got the new Android 4.4"

The HTC G1 was my first Android phone in 2008, so I’m an OG. Android 1.0 was the start of the revolution. Glad I was there at the beginning to experience it.

JellyBean and kitkat were the best android versions in my opinion. they ran on very limited hardware at that time (512m ram and 2core processor) way better than my later android 6 phone (still 512m but 4 faster cores). it was so easy to root jellybean i didn't have to get my computer. i could do swapping in the sd card, allowing me to barely run Pokemon Go before they prevented it to run on anything older than KitKat. Great times.

They still name Android versions after food...

Android 11 is Red Velvet Cake
Android 12 is Snow Cone
Android 13 will be Tiramisu

Android is on soo many devices, because a company could literally make a simple phone that’s $100, snd it’ll sell like hot cakes.
Well, $100-$300 devices in general sell like that. Because most people can get by using less, since all of the stuff like period 48MP, 4K, and wireless charging are all premium and kinda pointless, since you’d be fine with a 900p screen, and 8-12MP camera.
Plus 8 or more cores, 8GBs of ram and 512GBs of storage is a bit much, when 2, 3, or 4 is perfectly fine.

Currently using the Samsung note 9. I've got the pixel expensive custom ROM installed with android 12.1. These phones are given a few more years of life with the help of custom roms. Can't believe my old 2018 phone runs the same version of Android as the pixel 6 pro
