Thanks Scotty.
ОтветитьХороший познавательный канал у тебя Скотти . Спасибо интересно тебя смотреть.
ОтветитьI only change the oil filter, but every 1,000 miles.
ОтветитьScotty, who the hell uses a jack to jack a car up and then explains why he doesn't use jack stands? Even back in 2013-14 when this was made it was a simple Darwin test.
Ответитьjust get a new drain plug if you worried about the gasket, what are they like $3
ОтветитьTalking about what to do with the old oil I was ready for him to say "Do it the old fashioned way, dump it in your neighbor's yard." 😆🤣😄
ОтветитьYou’re the goat
Ответить“Today Im gonna show you how to change your engine oil in a modern car” * clicks of video cause I got a 90*😂
Ответитьnot sure Scotty's neighbors appreciate the introduction to this tutorial.
ОтветитьTHANK YOU, THANK YOU SCOTTY 😉😁👍😃
ОтветитьMost of the extra weight in some manufacturers oil filters is that the outer shell is heavier. This creates the perception of "more weight to the filter", so it's kind of a gimmick. The real test is how much of what kind of filtration media, how substantial is the core and end caps, and what did they use for the anti-drainback valve. Weight doesn't tell you if they use paper or synthetic fibers, but the synthetic fibers filter out more junk.
ОтветитьDo i need pre fill the oil filter ?
Ответитьthat was good Scotty but there was lots of oil coming out from that old filter. can you start that engine for a second to get oil out of the filter first???
ОтветитьThis is the best oil change, but safety to be the most first priority Scotty
ОтветитьThanks for the video. Just one question. Do you start your engine for 5 minutes after you've flush out the oil, right?
ОтветитьI pour my used oil down a dolphin's blowhole.
ОтветитьI’m not sure about these new oil change intervals. I’ll stick with the 3000 to maybe 4000 at most miles myself. It’s not like they care if your car wears away faster
ОтветитьYou can also use oil to lubricate your wooden fence to make it last longer against water.
ОтветитьI’m a girl who knows nothing about cars but for some reason I want to change my own oil 😂😂😂
ОтветитьHere's something important to remember that learned from Scotty:
When you take out the old oil filter, make sure the gasket comes off with the old filter. If you put the new filter on and the old gasket is still stuck up there the 2 gaskets will build up pressure and all the oil will leak out of your engine and blow your car up.
Thanks Scotty. Always a hoot to watch, and I always learn something!
Ответитьperfect,I like to fill my filter up almost full when the position is right also. great vids scotty , thanks.
ОтветитьI throw used oil into lakes and rivers
ОтветитьThis dude, understand the mission for each frame.
ОтветитьThanks for being an absolute legend
Ответитьman I payed $100 for an oil change yesterday. I'm going to change it myself in the future
ОтветитьI would like to get DIY's opinion. I use Pennzoil full synthetic oil and Amsoil canister synthetic filter. I change oil every 6 month, regardless of driving distance. Usually, it is 3500-4000 km (2 200 - 2 500 mile)
As Amsoil filter is good for 20 000 ml, I use one filter for two oil changes: after initial installation, 6 month later I remove the filter from housing, drain the old oil from it and reinstall it again for another 6 months cycle. As a result, I use one Amsoil filter for two oil changes. My only concern is if after draining the filter some particles may went wrong way and later enter the engine. Any opinion from experienced DIY's is appreciated.
I cut mine in half like scotty then it was tough to install afterwards 😂
ОтветитьBro has good energy!
ОтветитьThank you!!!
ОтветитьJust wanna say thank you for all the time and effort you put in all tour videos. Every time a product is recommended by you we're ALWAYS sure it's good, thank you Scotty
ОтветитьRemember to check for double gasketing!!!
ОтветитьAlways put jack stand under the car after jack it up to avoid unpredictable accident when you are working under the car.
ОтветитьIs it okay to use a Synthetic blend oil on a 2005 Scion tC with with vvt-I engine?
ОтветитьFor an oil change, I find using a large roller jack, and jack stands a problem. First I have to get on my back and locate the jack point to jack my truck up, then I have to get out and move to both sides to place my jack stands on the jack points. Then I get up and remove my roller jack, then get back under to remove the drain plug. I am 72, and not as flexible as when I was younger. So I made two wooden ramps out of 2 x 10 lumber. Now I just roll my truck front end up on the ramps, and chock the rear tires. So much easier. I also installed wheels, and handles on the ramps so I can easily move them around. This also tilts the oil pan, so a little more oil flows out. Also, I removed the oil pan drain plug, and installed a Fumoto spring lever plug. No oil plug gaskets to buy, no oil mess, and I can easily remove some of the oil if I over fill.
ОтветитьGood stuff!
ОтветитьALWAYS USE JACKSTANDS !!!!!!
ОтветитьCame here for the memes.
Scotty will have a panic attack when he finds out I use diesel oil in my older (80's early 90's gasser rigs.
Fantastic video
ОтветитьI’ve heard that an oil change was so easy, it’d blow my mind but woooooow…..that’s it?!? Omg I could’ve been doing this myself this whole entire time 😮. I’ve actually done more challenging things to my car than that.
ОтветитьI feel like there's a safer way to cut those filters 😬
ОтветитьWhy on earth would Scotty advise not to use Jack stands? He needs to edit that part out.
ОтветитьNever ever put your head under any car without a jack stand
ОтветитьNumber 1 takeaway from this video - don't use an angle grinder like that
ОтветитьDude, you're awesome!!😁✌
ОтветитьI always just chucked the oil out the window when driving to be honest
ОтветитьAnd what do i do we the old oil ?
ОтветитьI’m 25 and I want to say I’m GLAD I found your channel (I KNOW…I’M LATE 😂😂) thanks for showing this info I never knew you could buy a oil filter 😅
