I like how she gave voice to that you can hold two things at once. Feeling sadness and loss but also having strength and moving forward. Thank you! I am a young stroke survivor and that perfectly encapsulates how I feel. I only show my strength side but inside I do feel sadness and loss. I think acknowledging the painful parts is important and doesn’t mean I’m not strong and positive but I do feel like I’m letting others down when I reveal those feelings. ❤❤❤ thank you for your story Jayme. You are strong!!!

FAST needs to include something for LEGS! I passed the FAST test my husband gave me so we went back to sleep & suffered more damage for not going to the hospital for 5 hours. Like many others, my ONLY symptom was leg tingling & weakness, why on earth is there not more awareness about this??

I had a stroke in May 2023, and spent two months laying on a bed at a military hospital in Northern Virginia. The one thing I can say it's the worst thing telated to the stroke is that I forgot how to cry--My brain forgot how to cry!! My eye doctor says that it will take about a year to be able to cry tears again. Thanks for sharing your story. God is in control of my life. Amén and Amén!!

I had a stroke 2 months ago...i am 36 yrs old...still recovering as it affected my memory..very traumatic for me as I couldn't remember even my own name...i overworked and didn't have a healthy lifestyle...now i'm trying to get better..it still is challenging for me since during recovery, i am struggling with overthinking about the work i left since i am still in recovery; whether i will have another stroke; how i will have another work that won't trigger another stroke...it's very scary for me...😢

Four years ago I had what should have been a lethal stroke - a left thalamic hemorragic bleed. But I'm all here mentally. But phyically disabled. Every nurse on the floor told me it was a miracle i was alive.

I had a stroke 2 years ago and then brain surgery and had to remove a portion of my cerebellum. I am left with loss of balance and constant state of dizziness. I've learned to live with it but have been trying to find someone that has the same symptoms which are like constant vertigo. Life is good and I'm so thankful but it's different. I've seen 7 neurologist but no one can help me find someone with my symptoms. Just wanted to share and find out what they've been through.

My mom had a stroke tonight. She argued with me about calling the ambulance and that lasted about 15 minutes before I decided to finally call. By the time she was in the hospital and given her dose altepase, it had been a couple hours.

Then she had a blood clot retrieval and the doctor said she has a good chance of having minimal permanent damage and timing was very important. I'm 33 and live at home with her and now I don't even feel guilty about it. I hope someone can get to information fast and does not hesitate.

I am looking forward to her recovering the next few days in the hospital and I can't stress enough how important the medical community is. Be sure to be honest with your doctors about how you feel and take your medications. We recently tried to drop Eliquis and I think it may have something to do with this clot

My father (51) suffered a brain stroke (on left side of his brain) on 1st of April, 2023 may be due to high blood pressure (as he has been suffering from high bp for a long time n he didn't use to take medicines of high bp regularly).
He got some immediate treatment n thankfully he survived.. but his ability to talk has lost n right side of his body is paralyzed. In the early 4-5 days of the stroke, He wasn't able of swallowing so feeding pipe was used but now he can swallow properly.
The doctors discharged him from hospital on 6th April saying that he is now out of danger but it'll take a long time to recover completely..

At home, we ourselves do his physiotherapy as suggested by physiotherapist..

Can someone tell how long he will take to come out of his paralysis?
