This look awesome!
ОтветитьThat looks like fun. You made it look so cool. Amazing video as always.
ОтветитьHiya J very good video great information regarding E bikes…… e cars e bikes what’s next ?…😀🙏🏿
ОтветитьHi Jourdain, May I know the handlebar bag you are using on your Brompton? :)
Ответить:) ! Nooice one! If you ever want to compare or do a review on a regular Brompton hit me up can lend you one lol!
ОтветитьHi Jourdain,
You should start an ebike review channel, if you are able to hire and test out bikes. I am in to road bikes, however this video was still interesting. With ebikes becoming more and more popular your videos will get lots of views.
Was it Bosch?
ОтветитьThis is a brilliant review. Launch Control sounds amazing, works like a Tesla without being a gimmick. I tested an ARCC Moulton a few years ago at a bike show. The automatic mode was a major differentiator to the other electric bikes. Intelligent and seamless. A safely boost because automatic meant not having to fiddle with electric settings while riding. And it made hills flat. Definitely an electric system any stronger riders can exploit. For me I was thinking of the range, it would meant I could visit a relative 20-30 miles away and not turn up soaked in sweat.
ОтветитьThank you, good review. Just one thing: the “size” of a battery is to be measured in Ah (amp hours) or Wh (watt hours), not in amps. Amps ( or Ampere or A) gives you the strength of the current that flows to the motor. Amp hours (Ah) tells you how long a current can flow to the motor until the battery ist empty. The energy provided to the motor depends from them current (Amp) and the voltage (Volt or V). Therefore to compare the size of two batteries it is not enough to compare the Ah. Instead you should compare the Wh. The 3Ah power tool battery has an energy amount of 3Ah* 36V = 108Wh. A usual Bosch e-bike battery has about 500Wh , which is almost five times as much.
ОтветитьGreat video. Can you get ARCC outside the UK?
ОтветитьSome cyclists in London jump red lights like it’s going out of fashion.
ОтветитьYou didn’t mention the price and I can see why. £1799. Ouch!! And that’s only for the 4 Ah battery. The 6 is an extra £136. That makes it more expensive than the premium for an electric Brompton over the standard. And it displaces the luggage block so you have to pay another £100 for the Brompton bag adapter kit. Nice video but no thanks.
ОтветитьLooks like a great kit even though it's quite expensive. Shame they have no intention of selling the kit standalone so people can install it themselves. No way to buy outside the UK.
ОтветитьAs someone having issues with the Swytch mounting system I would think this kit would work much better as the battery is designed for impact drills etc.
ОтветитьDoes anyone know how to remove the front wheel to replace the inner tube? I have a snakebite puncture and cannot remove the clips/covers that are over the fork ends and prevent the wheel from being extracted. We've tried several things to no avail and the Arcc online manual doesn't show these clips/covers for the Brompton version of the conversion. This is very frustrating!
ОтветитьGreat vid giving a real in depth insight to the ARCC modified Brompton many thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьUnfortunately can only be serviced in Cambridge so a non starter for me
ОтветитьLooks good, I just don't understand the price of the convertion. I build lots of pevs, (skateboards, scooters and bikes). The parts used can't add up to much more than about £700.
ОтветитьWho installs the kit?
ОтветитьI thought I was going to do this to mine till I realized you can't get this in the U.S.
ОтветитьSpeaking frankly, ARCC Is expensive than others' conversion kits
ОтветитьThe distance per battery is purely theoretical. In practice its always less
ОтветитьVery interesting
I have the same bike and would consider this kit after this review.
Would then give me a valid excuse to buy another bike to ride manually ❤
You can’t say you haven’t done the research about the competition and then immediately say that this is the best one
ОтветитьWhy would you have a review with no indication of price.
ОтветитьWhat you did not mention, and this is important to many and perhaps all Brompton riders. is that the ARCC unit takes up the front mounting block, so all the front luggage options from Brompton are null and void. So, if I have to choose between launch control and no loggage Vs no launch control, but with luggage, Swytch or Brompton electric win.
ОтветитьNa oryginalnym e-Bromptonie mogę przejechać zaledwie 20-25 km. Czy można jakoś to wydłużyć za pomocą dodatków z ARCC ? Na przykład zmienić akumulator ?
ОтветитьT'es français ?
ОтветитьWhere can I get the kit fitted if I live in the UK?
ОтветитьGreat review, and you let us hear the sound of the motor on full launch control.. thx
ОтветитьFantastic, it all sounds nice and dandy, but the fly in the ointment is "electrifying your Brompton voids your warranty with Brompton", if I understand correctly? So the trade-off is that ARCC gives a 5-years warranty, obviously for the electrification system only (I suppose), and one loses the 7-year Brompton frame warranty in exchange? For some it might be an acceptable trade-off, but for all? Just pondering...
ОтветитьBut you can no longer use a front bag, which is a key Brompton element
Ответить£2k is too much.
ОтветитьExcellent presentation. THX!
ОтветитьYou don't look much like Harry Enfield.
