Wow, that was intense! I liked how you let the wind and the sea state do most of the talking in this episode. I think it captured the mood onboard
Ответитьvery good video. one of the rare ones that capture the mood and the tension of handling the boat, in high seas and high wind. felt the boat was running too fast and too much sails though, perhaps there was some pressure not to arrive too late. prefer to slow the boat down in high seas and not force her into surfing, slowing helps also to mitigate her breaking out to the side (and then knock down)
ОтветитьA great boat is at her best with a good crew! This is a great video of heavy weather sailing! Great job!
Ответитьanother pathetic sailing channel. STOP THEM,,,,,
ОтветитьSome proper weather there!
ОтветитьThis is what sailing is all about.
Ответить😆
ОтветитьExtraordinary video. It's hard to capture wave size on video. Some of those big ones were starting to break. Well done, a fair bit of sailing . You all earned that drink.
ОтветитьI sailed on a Beneteau 40, what a crappy sailing boat, ato pilot didn't work so we had to hand steer, that boat was all over the place no way to keep it straight, sailboat data gives it a comfort rating of 26,33, I own and sail a Bristol Channel Cutter a 28' boat, it has a comfort rating of 37.20 sails like it's on a rail, much better cruising boat
ОтветитьVery real. You captured the intensity, the focus demanded in near-gale conditions, and the incredible joy and relief that comes from making port after a long passage. Excellent work!
ОтветитьNow, that's sailing.😅
Ответитьwhat is that orange thing?
ОтветитьCongratulations 🎊
ОтветитьThe adage"what does not kill you just makes you stronger " is I think the applicable comment.
You learn a lot about yourself and your boat for going through these kind of experiences.
Good job guys! Fucking love the auzies
ОтветитьHow in the world did you have that jib rigged? I counted 6, if not 7 lines coming out of the end of that whisker pole.
ОтветитьIf those waves don’t put hair on your peaches I don’t know what would
ОтветитьJust stumbled on this channel. Awesome country intro that was well done,👏👏👏👏 loved every nano second of it
ОтветитьLovely to see a boat well managed - nice work.
ОтветитьSeem pretty safe saling with a 40 fot Beneteau :)
ОтветитьThat was one of the best sailing edits I've seen. Wow! That was intense! I've been following plenty of sailing channels, and I have to admit, your channel is by far my favorite. I very much like the raw sailing mixed in. Especially in these types of situations. Well done! Great editing!
ОтветитьThe Quartermaster•
This is the difference between your sailing videos and others who don’t want you to see how they show poor judgement and helm skills when the weather continues to deteriorate and things start falling apart. You guys are truly competent sailors! It’s the price you pay knowing that this is the reality when blue water sailing. Great Job!
Yol, this is mad. Great watch, subbed
ОтветитьLooks like a great downwind sail to me wouldn’t like to be going upwind though
ОтветитьCurious if you tried the autopilot in those waves? Does the 40 heave-to well? Thanks for the great video.
ОтветитьWow. This is living!
ОтветитьHaha this Drink at the end was really good hin! Well done Sailor
ОтветитьJust wow
ОтветитьWow! Great job! Best sailing footage I’ve seen yet on all the sailing channels I’ve watched!
ОтветитьYou guys have a drogue? I'd have been very tempted to deploy one.. Lucky to have a good sized crew.. I'd also mabe have preferred a less twitchy boat for that sea, but then where would have celebratory drinks when you arrive? Great video.
ОтветитьOnly 1 big wave
Ответитьgnarly
ОтветитьI'll never understand why people exaggerate the sea conditions... In 4 to 6m which equals to 12 to 18 ft seas and would've lose sight of the horizon, which I never saw in any portion of this video... There's no reason to exaggerate when out at sea...
ОтветитьFun video..maybe adding a little more sail would have help to stabilize the boat so it got close to hull speed. I raced a First 40.7 to Hawaii in 40-45 true and in appearance it looked a lot more stable than yours.
Ответитьvery nice video... big waves ... just the sound of nature as it should be !
ОтветитьThis was intense and raw. You all handled it well, kept calm and prevailed. I experienced that sail with you and that is the first time ever when watching a small yacht sailing video. You earned those survival shots at the end!
ОтветитьAmazing production value. Really well done content.
ОтветитьWhat time of the year was this crossing? We have a small 32' catamaran, and hope we don't get much wind on our crossing. Currently aiming to leave early to avoid strong trades
ОтветитьHi Nicole and Sam! Wow, that was a wild ride! I just found your channel and now I’m bing watching your episodes to catch up. I watched the Pacific crossing first. Your Atlantic crossing reminded me of watching Elayna and Riley cross the Atlantic the first time when they didn’t have that many subscribers years ago now. I see that you made it to NZ - Congrats!!! Where next? The Indian Ocean beckons… All the best to you both!!!
ОтветитьI’m getting stressed out watching this I can only imagine what it was like for you
ОтветитьNicely done guys, thanks for sharing this. For those of us who haven't been to sea in ages this is really special. Really great piece of filming too.
ОтветитьThis is probably the best video work I've seen on YT depicting rough sea states.
The audio needs work but you guys are all top notch seamen.
Epic hands on sailing. Loved the video and the crew's skills.
Ответитьhow much sailing experience do you all have between you.
ОтветитьGood job the camera never dose it justice 🤘🤘🤘
ОтветитьWatching your video almost made me get a shot of crown royal great video and great job
Ответитьwhen do you know to take it from auto/wind vein to manual
Ответитьbest video. I have never seen a better video, thank so much
