I put Taylor Swift right next to black flag……I don’t give a F.
ОтветитьIf I was in a band, I'd put our patch over my heart. As a symbolic gesture.
PS. This video is perfect. I'm saving it for future reference if I ever need to explain in detail what battle vests are. Your video will do it for me.
other than actually needing to know the bands of the patches you choose, all these rules are bullshit lol. this is about rebellion and creativity, the last thing anyone is going to do is follow a set of guidelines (this isn't an actual guideline video imo but) either way YES YES YES to sewing patches on! i highly suggest still ironing them on before doing so for extra reinforcement.
ОтветитьMy back patch is from my first concert with Cannibal Corpse 🙃 It's still a work in progress but it's my first one, and it means a lot to me, I only put patches on it from concerts I been to.
ОтветитьRules ???!!!! Ooookaaayyyy then ..,
ОтветитьBattle vest? Is that what He-Man wears?
ОтветитьA battle vest is what you make of it ....its DIY
ОтветитьAre anime and games ok?
ОтветитьHi! This is a rad video, thanks for sharing! I gotta know where did you get that Tool patch?! I am looking for one 🌀
ОтветитьWell for number 2 I beg to differ. The first patch I put on mine was a Jack Daniels one and right under it threw a fucking motorhead patch on it
ОтветитьI would make a jacket only with patches of qr code that directs to "never gonna give you up"
Ответитьthe rule that I know of, put lgbtq+ patches and similar IN THE FRONT. if someone tries to clock you, you want to be able to see them attack
Ответитьmy jacket is still a work in progress, hopefully always will be lol, but it has buttons, band patches and a lot of flower/symbol patches but I have some keys sewn on, some patches safety pinned on, I just added some spikes and rivets by hand and a couple of bones I sewed on and chains. can't wait to add more!!
ОтветитьI usually like to stick to a theme but I guess that's just cause I'm too perfectionnist haha
ОтветитьI think you should know what other people think, like this video - but not to conform to that. Get knowledgeable about a culture because knowledge is power and you might love an idea. Now go do whatever you want and be who you were born to become.
ОтветитьIt’s punk metal shit. The only rules are there are no rules. Punk rock doesn’t follow rules and if someone says other wise tell them to screw off you don’t follow the rules lol
ОтветитьMy only criteria for a battle vest is that I have to actually like the band's music.
95% of the patches should be bands but it's OK to have one or two that are not bands IF it fits the motif for instance, I have a universal monsters patch but it fits in a metal context.
i have a punk vest and my back patch is metallica master of puppets because this band and this album introduced me to this kind of songs an genres PUNKS NOT DEAD. Opinion?
ОтветитьYou drinking the Nashville Preds?
ОтветитьI dislike the "rules" people put out, it should be whatever you want to create. However, I think to put a band on your vest you should know them at least a little bit. Other then that, there are no rules.
ОтветитьThe first rule is only put bands you know, the 2nd rule is make it how you want to make it and never give a fuck what people think
ОтветитьI only do bands I've seen. Fav band on back. Everyone is different, I rekon. I always thought the battle was seeing the actual show.
Ответитьthis video was great to show my older daughter to design her first vest, my partner and I are building battle jackets with each kid with acts we've seen together and a little bit of each girls and our personalities
ОтветитьWatching this to prepare to make a battle vest and when I saw the coheed patch I almost freaked out with happiness! It looks awesome and now I’m definitely going to put a keywork on mine!
Ответитьmy battle vest theme is bands that i dont listen to
ОтветитьThere are ZERO "rules" other than the ones you allow others to put on you. I dont listen to metal music but i have a vest i made myself inspired by 1970's New York street gang/early NY hip hop culture because vests with frayed cut sleeves were what they were wearing back them - Watch the awesome doc " Rubble Kings" and "80 Blocks From Tiffanys" , or the film " The Warriors" .
ОтветитьSome poser telling me the rules of my own vest, that's rich
Ответитьfuck da rules
ОтветитьLove that you're a Queensryche Fan.. Saw them during Rage for Order and Operation Mindcrime
ОтветитьI don't really care what others think. But for me it's always been relevant that you only have ONE metal vest that represents your life. Having 2 or 3 battle vests is posing. A battle vest represents you, your music, and your life. And we all only have one life, so we only have one battle vest. How you design it and how you deal with it is up to you. There are no rules about which bands or genres have to be on it or fit together. And there are also no rules about what else has to be on it (political symbols, nicknames, football clubs, slogans...). And yes, you should have sewn on the patches YOURSELF. Otherwise you might as well order a battle vest online.

I'm making a horror movie vest, and I have a section dedicated to my close friends favorite horror movies. I may not like them, but it's kinda like carrying a piece of them with me.
ОтветитьEveryone is a poser and everyone is hella lame
ОтветитьDoes a jacket that is mostly the name of various bands stenceled on your jacket with a sharpie count as a battle vest? That's what I had in the 80's. It didn't occur to me there could be a nme for it.
ОтветитьShut up
ОтветитьA true rebel will not follow anyone's stupid rules.
Ответить“we’re all just a bunch of rebels here… RULE number six…”
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Girl… you aren’t even NURSING that Boones Farm. You better pipe down and get to chugging!
Rule number six.
Shut up and “Baptize “ that battle vest! 😂
Everyone has its own rules but patching but my big rule is never put festival wristband on you're vest its wierd only do if its a legendary festival but doing it every year that doesn't make any sence .
ОтветитьIf anyone comes up to you and asks about the bands you are wearing, you should be able to have a decent conversation about them, if not then you are just wearing them for show which is being a fakeass!
ОтветитьThere aren't any "rules", tf
ОтветитьYou over complicated this for no reason
ОтветитьStarting the video now.
If the only rule they will mention is "There are no rules, go ham" - than it will be fine.
Edit: Nevermind. Do not listen. There are no rules. It is clothing.
I'm going to make mine bands I like and bands I've seen
ОтветитьNothing says metal like rules 😂
ОтветитьWhat a bunch of bull shi€#, there are no rules! Just do as you please en enjoy the music and life! There are already to many rules in this life...
Ответитьwatching a bunch of videos as I make my own vest INSPIRED by battle vests. I don't listen to metal or even a lot of rock but back in 2019 and 2020 I started a jacket for myself to wear full of paintings and pins that meant a lot to me. It's mostly political and just generally things I enjoy. I have friends who do listen to this music and have vests like this so recently decided to re-do mine with recent issues and new patches I've collected that I did not have the first time. I don't currently own patches of any bands I like but do have one from my favorite author, one that is dnd related, and one of a musical I like. Hoping to find/make some patches for The crane wives, Chappell Roan, Marina, Lemon Demon, Will Wood, The Dresden Dolls, Mother Mother, and some other musicals I love. does anyone know where I would be able to find these?
Edit: making mine as colorful as possible and the entire back is painted with my pride flags as a base. getting it ready enough for a concert coming up of a band I don't know well but it's my girlfriend's favorite band. Wanting my clown vest ready to wear among the battle jackets.
😮
ОтветитьUmmm....haven't watched the video yet, so maybe I'm over reacting, but the whole premise of this video seems a bit...off. A "Battle vest" is an inherently PUNK garment....and a quintessential tenant of Punk is all things anti-rules/regulation; Punk fashion was built around the practice of DIY and personalization of style....so wouldn't "RULES to making a battle vest" by nature be incongruous?
ОтветитьI will be making my own battle jacket soon after wanting one for years, this really came about because I saw someone with a battle vest at my old school. Because my all time favourite band is pretty new and doesn't sell patches I am going to use my old shirt that I bought at my first metal concert as my back patch, I am so happy now that I accidentally bought a too small shirt. I saw someone with a Witcher patch so I am going to look for that one and I will sew it near a Blind Guardian patch because those two fit together nicely, those patches are going to be on the front. I want to include a transgender flag or a nonbinary one, if I cannot find a patch it will be a pin or I will make one. I am just so excited to finally start making my battle jacket.
Ответить1) LOVE the Coheeed back patch. 2) GO PREDS!
