I heard before that the lack of body odor is more frequent among Asian people (especially East Asian) because of a genetic variant of the ABCC11 gene (which is associated with the type of earwax and armpit odor). Those who have a "regular" ABCC11 gene (like most caucasians and other ethnicities) have a stronger body odor. I'm not a scientist but found this really interesting! I guess this depends on genetics, I'm half asian (Chinese) half caucasian (Canadian) and I unfortunately got the caucasian genes in that department so I have to wear deodorant everyday otherwise there's a smell no matter how many showers or soap I use, if I'm stressed or start sweating it gets really bad lol. My brother on the other hand doesn't use any and doesn't smell.

You can use baking soda under your arms, that eliminates any smell better than deodorant

i need antiperspirants because my left armpit stinks it can happen very quickly after showering. hopefully if i stop using deodorants and mainly antiperspirants..., it will stop stinking,.... my right.... a r m p i t ..... can stay clean for about 24 hours even when sweating or due to heat... does anyone suffer like me with half smelly pits?😄😄😄😄😄🥰👍👍

Actually Koreans and Chinese have a gene mutation that doesn't produce body odors. But Japanese actually have a smell that's on similiar level to Southeast Asians but less than Europeans/Indians/Blacks.

This is very interesting. I'm moving to Japan next year. I've always been told to either not wear deodorant or to find one with the least amount of scent to it as the general population in Japan kinda frowned apon people with strong smelling deodorant and cologne.

I sweat a lot but I don't use any deodorant, my secret is a vegetarian diet and a good solid bar soap. My sweat is basically odorless salty water. Those on keto diet however will stink a lot even after taking regular showers. Eating animal proteins will make your sweat smell bad
