Ответитьa panomaticluna and a SeaQ are grails of mine. someday.
ОтветитьAlas, the poor man's Lange 1 - smaller, slimmer, better proportioned. Big props for quoting Jonathan Meades though :)
ОтветитьAllo Tristano i am Camillo from Rome nice presentation about Glashutte model is my favorite Lang is for me one of Kind about engineering watch in the world WITH Breguet. PATEK. Vacheron, carry on to this way stay shape Un Saluto Ciao to the ne te.
ОтветитьA beauty for sure, but I just can't get past the perceived size on my wrist. Perhaps if I were to experience the feel and look of this 10 to 11 grand work of art wrapped around my wrist, the size would magically shrink down more to my liking. Yes, this is all IMHO. Happy hunting, TGV. The production here made the experience for me.
ОтветитьI have long admired GO, and I'm glad they received the TGV treatment. However, this is such a classy, dressy watch, for me the size is too large. I would probably pick the Breguet Classique.
ОтветитьCome on TGV, this is a Lange 1 with discount in essence.
ОтветитьThese are lovely watches. A mate of mine has the Großdatum in ruthenium, and it's glorious in many ways. They are, however, too large. I have, in a very different budget bracket, a Mühle Glashütte Tuetonia II, and it too is too large. I can't really sell it due to the circumstances of its purchase (emotional attachment can be a drag), but I would have never bought that watch today.
In short: I'd sooner take a Lange Saxonia Thin or Breguet 5157.
Nope. The non centered hands annoy me.
ОтветитьExcellent review. I believe this is its 20th anniversary. I would have been curious to learn more about the technical evolution of the watch since its inceptions 8 iterations ago. The brand definitely seems to be ascending.
ОтветитьFunny - and I see it in some of the comments here - the first thing many think when the see GO is ‘swatch group’, and yet few think ‘Richemont’ with ALS….they are both conglomerates, and GO is much more ‘in house’ than ALS…gotta hand it to Richemont on the marketing…
ОтветитьTo many commercials
ОтветитьExcellent review of an amazing watch. It’s definitely on my short list for potential grail watches. I like the gold version
ОтветитьVery good in-depth review. Once you pointed out that the 5-6-7 markers are missing, I cannot "unsee" it. It reminds me of the design queues on the Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph where the 2-4-8-10 Arabic numbers are cut off. This watch is a definite pass for me.
ОтветитьWatching this video, I was struck (and not for the first time) about how terrific your video production is. It’s even classier than the PanoMatic :)
Always such a delight to watch, and learn.
Fascinating and balanced content as ever TGV. I have a grey dial version under consideration but am
looking at other German Glashutte watchmakers. I do like the in house movement here, compared to other brands reworking the ETA at least in their base offerings - but let's not forget that is what Panerai did - I do love a Panerai! At the other end of the spectrum is the Patek Philippe inline perpetual calendar - logically and aesthetically it really speaks to me but what I cannot fathom is the cost associated with bringing the triple date function inline? How much?! Completely separate to this is the news that Breitling seem to have just bought Universal Geneve… interesting times! Ciao!
Only gay boys care for watches
ОтветитьStunning Watch
ОтветитьFrom Glashütte Original the grail is the Pano Retro Graph - the OG countdown timer.
ОтветитьThe intro video is a remarkable passage of time, the fluidity is exceptional! The movement is very beautiful, especially the swan neck regulator! Thanks for another true review!! Best regards!
ОтветитьMy grail seems to be an ever-changing thing but Glashutte Original seems to be a recurring feature. Was so glad to see you covering this piece!
ОтветитьWhat a lovely video. Excellent stuff as usual. What An exceptional and genuinely interesting piece, sadly too large for me.
ОтветитьA snippet of Reggae into the soundtrack of a German watch review. That takes some skill - well done.
ОтветитьYay Bach makes an appearance. Great choice in music!
ОтветитьThey're cool still. But the ownership of swatch group shows.
Ответитьit's time to make the Christmas tree bro 😉
ОтветитьGot the senator excellence the year the reworked the movement and love it. Put it on a different strap and looks great for every day wear. Always wanted to have a GO.
ОтветитьI really enjoyed this video. Being from Germany, it's fun to see your perspective of the country.
I like Glashütte, the design does nothing for me, tho. I prefer Junghans. Not a luxury brand, but awesome watches.
Great review as always. So much information. Thank you for providing it and great to hear from Peter Henlein in your videos. Greetings from Nuremberg!
ОтветитьStunning watch. And I agree, too large, too thick
ОтветитьI'd take the Panoreserve as my grail all day long.
ОтветитьOnly Seiko is better than Swiss made
ОтветитьHow could one compare Richard Mille to Glashütte
ОтветитьYeah, piece of art but does it look nice on the wrist? No!
ОтветитьThis is definitely one of my grails as well but unfortunately you are right. It's too thick and just too big for the dress watch it should be. They should update this model next year and give it proper dimensions. Else it's absolutely stunning!
ОтветитьDitto minus the moon!
ОтветитьImpressive, a shame it’s as thick as a U boat door! Love their divers,
ОтветитьWhat is that book/catalog you are leafing through?
ОтветитьThe panomaticlunar ( green) is my grail watch, its so well done, i do like German watches anyway as i already own sinn and nomos models. I like the size it fits my 7.25" wrist although thinner would be nice.
ОтветитьThe font they used for PanoMaticLunar is unfortunate. I am also reminded of Marc's pragmatic approach to watchmaker history when it comes to the Lange issue - can the current owners be blamed for what happened during the war?
Ответитьlove A. Lange and Sohne but these look just as good and way way cheaper.
ОтветитьSick Intro!!!
ОтветитьThe CEO of Lange's comment on the GO rip-off of the Lange 1 at the recent Horological Society of New York seminar was the funniest moment of that talk.
Ответитьoften the journey is better than arriving - I trust your grail disapproves that old adage
ОтветитьAbsolutely stunning! I don’t understand why these high-end luxury brands only offer their dress watches in 39-40.
ОтветитьNot certain if this is the appropriate place to inquire, BUT I also have a Seiko Flightmaster SNA411 and given that you’re an enthusiast, I hoped you’d know the answer.
I picked it up during a stint in Japan and I notice looking at yours that yours says "200M" where as mine says "20BAR".
Did I get a Yakuza switcheroo or is that a variance based on location of purchase or a third option?
Thanks in advance!
20 years ago, I wouldn't have given this watch a second glance, but as you say, "tastes change". I was going to say that I daren't Google the price, but then you said $10,000 and I was pleasantly surprised, I was expecting more like $30K!
I would find myself wearing it "inside out" just to stare at the beautiful movement 😍
👍🏻
Hello TGV from the UK. I have been thinking hard about a GO Pano for a long time and have been trying to decide between the Panomaticlunar and the Panoreserve. In the end I opted for the Silver Dial Panoreserve as I prefer handwound movements and it is slightly thinner. It's a used watch and I traded a silver Aqua Terra for it. The movement is beautiful and I am very pleased with the watch. However, the accuracy isn't great (plus 8 seconds) and what do you do when you first get one of these pano date watches .......... of course you watch the date wheel change. Unfortunately, mine moves over 15 to 20 minutes early. It probably needs a bit of a service, but I still love it!
ОтветитьDefinitely a fine timepiece. When I was looking at these I was a bit partial to the senator perpetual calendar versions. On the sporty side they also made a sport evolution perpetual calendar with world time bezel. There is one on ebay right now for 10k. That seems like a lot of watch for the money.
