I wish they'd kept as close as possible to the old look of this van/bus. The hubcaps, the Skooby Doo vibe. That's my favorite part of this vehicle. Maybe in a couple of iterations they'll come back to that look WITH all of the modern features of this version.

The perfect vehicle is a 1957 VW in 1957,,,36 hp and 30 miles to the smile. The perfect vehicle in 2024 is a hybrid with a modest electric motor and a small efficient internal combustion engine combined. This gives you more range. A smaller lighter less expensive battery and motor that is reliable. Electric car range drops at freeway speed so good for the city and bad at distance or cold and hot too. It come from rapid charge or discharge. The safety factor is also better in a hybrid to have a battery that can be placed between the rear tires instead of under the floor area or in the front. Btw a 1957 VW VAN has the same drag Coefficient of a Jaguar at 50 mph. Peace on earth and ocean.

Vw finally give us a new VW bus and they ruin it by making it electric. I’m all for electric cars for commuters, they just are not great for traveling, especially in middle America.

I remember the Volkswagen bus oost a little over $4000 and the beetle around $1800.

Great episode really fun to watch! It would have been even more entertaining if you had presented the fluff man the VW. Not a knock on you or VW. I just love the guy.

It just looks like an updated electrified mini van. If you can't improve on the design, why not bring back the older bus design? I mean... it's right there. Disappointing.

​My dad did flip his 1974 VW Blue White Bus completely oh it's top spinning at the end of our block. He wasn't going any faster than 15-20 miles per hour.
He had to slam on the brakes to prevent hitting another car that ran the stop sign. I loved that car and can still remember the evening we went to look at it and drove it home, decades ago.

Awesome stuff. I Love Jay, one of my favorite comedians ever. Boy.. i would love to see his car collection, that would be a dream come true.

This has to be the worst buzz review I've seen. Barely any info about the car other than the torque is pretty good, some light minded German jokes, and extending grading television style editing to make sure you get the jokes. What a waste of time for both the viewers and the talent on screen.

Electric cars are a flop, overpriced,limited range and massive drain on the infrastructure.

if the bumpers where round and the lights where too and a nice old roof rack it could look vintage they ruined the spirit of it

The missed opportunity here from VW was to make those headlights round, I get the family face from today's VW is similar but the Buzz always had those round headlights and taillights. It is a huge fail IMHO

Sell those things in three colours. And…offer sticker books with umpteen different themes and let the owner have some fun.

Test drove one of these today. Extremely disappointed. Terrible ride quality

Love the Volkswagen bus, but I have to laugh at the reps “you can’t build this with a flat front with an internal combustion engine” even though they were able to do it nearly 60 years ago with the original and Chevy did it with the Astro and Toyota with the wonder van and then the Previa.. Make it a diesel or turbo gas and I’d be checking it out. Oh and get it back down to affordable..

i learned to drive in a 67 Bus. one with a bad second gear. the back seat was cool cause you could turn it around.

I Love the VW bus. I'm not sure what that new thing is, but it's not a bus. Someone hit that design with an ugly stick...many times.

They could keep the aerodynamics without losing some of the appeal.

Lovely to see Leno! In some countries, all vans are called “microbus” like a category. For an example, Toyota Sienna microbus! It is that iconic.

They could have put a gas engine in the rear and had the crumple zone in the front still. I would want a gas model.

I’m actually disappointed. I’m under the impression by 2025 a lot of these electric vehicles will be approaching the 400 mile range. Is this on old technology only being at 200. I’m expecting manufactures to keep pushing the envelope of high mileage battery capacity
