I got my jaw locked open once and it was HORRIBLE. Foolishly tried to fit a whole soda bottle in my mouth (during class too) and then after I took the bottle out I couldn't close my mouth. Got rushed to the children's hospital and they didn't know what to do with me. I waited for 3 hours, drooling into a bucket, and then it just shifted itself back into place while they were getting IV meds ready to force it back into place. To this day I get big anxiety at the dentist and I yawn extra carefully.

Edit: man I wish I had footage of my knee surgery. I never saw the xrays of my knee after it shattered until they did the surgery. Every image after was of it healing/fixed and regardless of the healing stage it pretty much looked normal. But I know the doctor said it was in 3 pieces and I believe he removed a few pieces but they werent big enough to notice.

I stayed in the hospital in 2018 for 12 days and I didn't eat solid food the entire time. I had abdominal surgery and they kept promising me food and then never delivered. I did lose 40lbs between that and surgery! I had broth, jello and popsicles. I know that isn't "healthy" but that's the only thing they gave me. It kinda drove me mad.

Call me weird (go ahead), but my colonoscopy prep was probably one of the most blissful evenings of my life. I suffer from IBS, and when you're prepping for a colonoscopy, you're avoiding all the foods that trigger IBS. Sure, you're in the bathroom a lot, but it's just water. It isn't a pressurized system. Plenty of time to get where you need to go. As for the procedure itself, I don't remember any of it, so it can't have been bad. I woke up feeling great, well rested and relaxed. I got the "You're all good, see you in 10 years" speech, but if they want to do it sooner, I'm down for it. Folks, don't put off that screening. It isn't bad at all, and it can save your life.

Ok, but what Fart Lady said IS actually true. It's not just as scary as she makes it sound. Unreleased farts ARE reabsorbed cuz that's WHERE those gases came from in the first place. We only think of gases from food digestion, but I swear I remember this covered in Anatomy and Physiology about gas exchange and capillaries. It's just not a big deal, like she seems to make it sound.
