The lomo instant square has a glass 95mm lens, shoots square instax, but also supports instax mini to save costs. Consider it

Hey, I have a vintage polaroid impulse portrait. It says in the description it uses polaroid 600 plus film, can i still use polaroid 600 (vintage) film?

Having to Engineer Gaming™ up some Instax cardstock adapters for Kodak instant camera's sure is a way to start this hobby after coming back from the thrift store.

Instax wide seems impossible to get hold of at the moment. I do hope it isn't on the way out. Thanks for a great overview and comparison of the formats.

I like the fact that Fuji has an electronic digital Instax film recorder for the Mini format...I just wish printing on it could be done without needing their app or a phone, but on Linux instead. I do like having actual chemical photographs of Ragnar from the Vikings TV show plus all the stuff I hoovered up online...that they flat out won't let you print at the drugstore (let alone the ones under my mattress...wink...wink.)

Excellent video - please keep it up. The world needs to know about instant photography so it can become more popular and we can get the manufacturers to make more cameras and film types :) I've never seen the 8x10 format before - now I want to invest in a camera that can take those photos. Any models you would recommend?

Omg I'm Dutch and I never knew that we were the ones fighting for Polaroid! That's cool. I adore instant film and have the instax mini 8 and instax sq6. I love them both, both the format is a little small, as you said. Maybe I'll check out the wide, even though the cameras are CHUNKY. Cool video!

Instax wide is so much more of a viable format now with the release of the Lomograflok. Not only do you have access to 98% of 4x5 cameras but DIY conversions with old Polaroids or even 3D printed bodies. This really opens up a lot of opportunities for Instax film so long as Fuji wants to keep Wide around

What’s with the shade throwing at Fuji? Just bought their new instax printer based on what I have seen on instant printers, Polaroid are nice but I watched various videos comparing print qualities and Fuji science seems to nail exposure where Polaroids seem to come out very warm and over exposed

Thank you for this video! The info about who is making Polaroid currently was especially helpful. I found a Polaroid One model from 2001 in my grandpa's things when I was helping my mom go through stuff and I balked at the price of the film, but now I want to use it when I go on trips, I think. Special film for a special occasion :) Wish I could afford to use it regularly though!

If Fuji would release an Instax Bluetooth printer like the Mini, I’d be all over it. That’s the format I really want as I like shooting Fuji cameras (not the plastic ones); the Mini has the right rectangular shape, but are tiny pics for teens with toy-looking cameras. Props for Fuji identifying a market and going with it, it seems to have worked, although in the world of teens, being “cool” is fickle. But it has carried them through to now, when adults might be more ready to embrace Instant film again. Like flares and disco music... perhaps? You don’t have to hide your Abba and BeeGees vinyl collection anymore.
I seriously considered getting an Instax 500af, but realistically know I can’t afford it, and am self-conscious enough I probably wouldn’t end up using it much. All I really want is an Instax Wide printer for my Fuji camera.

I am a big instant user... since my Colorpack II from 1970, I love the stability of Fuji film, bat really love the size of Polaroid ... I keep hoping they get better at color, I am pretty pleased with their B&W film. I also love my Fuji Neo 90, but also wish there was a camera with more controls ... ancient SX70s can do wicked long exposure, why can't Fuji make something like that!!!

One more thing to consider if you’re shooting black and white: Fuji’s b&w are in my opinion not truely b&w as some color shines through and they have a distinct blueish tint. Polaroids on the other hand are beautiful and warm.
