Joe doesn't appear to have the same people skills that ime had with the players because he related better to them as a former player. As a big Celtics fan I can say the Isaiah Thomas trade was 💩. Yeah we got Kyrie, a toxic player in any Locker room but we traded away our best player for a flakey and non loyal player that was gone next season

I've always been of the opinion that in Boston, there's a culture of individual sacrifices for the team's success attitude. This works provided that the team is otherwise looking out for their players and making sure that when it comes time to end a relationship with a player, that they do right by said players and respect those sacrifices made over their tenure. In a way, there's a bit of exploitation from ownership/management/the team as there's a required level of buy in where if everything happens as designed, things CAN come together. But either the times have changed enough where the team needs to adapt to expectations, or they need to continue to have so much proven success that players WANT TO COME and WIN with them. If they can't achieve that, and they don't follow up on their end of the deal once things are over, then it's not really gonna work out...
