I KNOW I could keep a chicken for a pet...as I order and eat Popeyes chicken thus... I would like to try horse meat to see what it's like for myself....thanks for the video Larry!
ОтветитьI had horse in Belgium a few years back. Is was OK, but different, and was in a very hearty casserole. Was a bit saddened to learn they butcher young horses for human consumption, not older hacks sent to the knackery. That older meat does not go to waste, and is used for pet or livestock food...I won't have it again, though.
ОтветитьMr. Ed would not approve!
Ответитьwhy some people have the attitude towards horse meat like hindus attitude towards cow? what is your basis to forbid horse meat? conservation? religion? or just your feeling?
ОтветитьIn Germany during Christmas time they kill off old race horses and make them into sausages.... But that's the only time of year they tend to serve horse meat. I'll eat raw cured grand meat than eat horse...... Also raw cured ground meat minded me of ham 😂
ОтветитьDid I spot an expiration date of "07 10 18" on that can of Horse meat? Back in the 60's, My grandfather told me when during WWII in addition to blocks of rock hard cheese and white Beans [that wouldn't soften no matter how long you cooked them] FDR's government also provided three-pound cans of Horse meat that my Grandmother managed to turn into dinner. But he told me it was tough, stringy and had a distinct flavor. I'm guessing the feds just shipped it raw in a brine instead of steam-cooking it in the can like is done today with Corned Beef.
ОтветитьI live in the horse racing capital of the world. I live 5 minutes from the most famous horse anything (horse barns, horse track etc). Horses to me are athletes and pets. Think about it, would you eat dog if you got a chance? I equate horse and dog on the same level. Interesting video though.
ОтветитьFray bentos is a staple in the UK ....it's bachelor food
ОтветитьBurger in a can is a non-english speaking European country thing......nobody likes them, they are a novelty. Its "American food" so it's exotic.

ОтветитьI've had horse steak in France a few times and it's delicious and much leaner than beef
ОтветитьI am dying to try dolphin, manatee or whale. I have seen great reviews
ОтветитьI would definitely.
ОтветитьHonestly, canned meats are very underwhelming at representing the actual dishes cooked with said meats. Canned beef / pork are definitely different from steak, meatballs, sausage or jerky prepared using those meats. The same with horse, snake, and whatever else canned flesh you might find on the internet.
Of course, it doesn't mean that it won't be tasty, it's just that specific "canned" attribute that influences taste and aroma greatly, making it vastly different from actual freshly cooked products.
I am so glad my stomach is empty watching this 🤣🤣🤣by the way just get sliced horse meat thin or shaved at the deli.
ОтветитьCan you provide links to what was in this vid ? I want to try it all. Please 🙏🏼 or lead me to a place to buy
ОтветитьHello I’m Mr.Ed lol😂 Nope I hope I never have to eat Horse.
ОтветитьIf you ate taco bell you had horse meat
ОтветитьHorse meat is easy to get here in southern Québec Canada. And a bit cheaper than beef. Have been eating it for over 30 years. But we get it fresh but grounded. Low fat and tasty. More tasty than ground beef around here too!
Ответитьits just stewed horse meat cooked in its own juices all natural.
ОтветитьI am not sure, but I think walmart has been secretly replacing the beef with horsemeat. I have been noticing a change in the texture and way it has been cooking up. I could be wrong, but I do know something is different with the beef sold in the store. I always buy the 80/20 grade. And noticed the difference.
ОтветитьIf you go to South Korea, street vendors sell something called "Nutritious Stew" . It's dog soup.
ОтветитьDonar Kabobs are all over Germany. I haven't seen it in the US but I don't seek out street food.
ОтветитьI would definitely give it a shot. Coming from post depression grandparents and living the farm life, I've eaten many things that might be considered wierd. My dad's neighbor used to take everything from the cow we wouldn't eat (awfuls?) and make very delicious sausage. As a kid, I watched my grandmother make cottage cheese, I've never seen milk turn so many different colours. When it was done, it looked and tasted like cottage cheese, go figure.
ОтветитьThat fat would make an awesome way to fry some potatoes and carrots with it. Plus you could throw in some flour to make gravy and turn it into a stew
ОтветитьI can’t read Russian but I think it says “expires in 2018”
ОтветитьYou should try Stieglmier head cheese and Rügen-krone herring in aspic.
ОтветитьIn Japan they eat raw horse meat. Horrible stuff.
ОтветитьI tried raw horsemeat one time when I was in Japan and the taste did not stand out.
ОтветитьMy neighbor used to buy frozen horsemeat and add it to the food for her dogs and cats. Though I never tried it, it looked like very lean beef.
ОтветитьHorsemeat is common in northern Italy, so I've probably eaten it without realizing it (I spent a lot of time there with work). I was surprised one day when I came across an outdoor meat market that had an entire horse carcass hung up for butchering.
ОтветитьLooks terrible, especially the artery. No thank you.
ОтветитьFinally a good use for a horse!
ОтветитьHello sir!! Where did you get the can of horse meat ?? I’m very curious!
ОтветитьI’d try horse.
ОтветитьI can't decide whether to eat it or bet on it. What are the odds?
ОтветитьWhen I lived in Japan I tried whale meat - not sure which species. It had the texture of beef but tasted like fish. I loved just about everything I ate in Japan - except natto! 🤮🤮 OMFG NO!
ОтветитьI love new food i have eaten frog legs snails love deer and rabbit also have had alligator which is awesome!! And snake!
ОтветитьWhat kind of jackass eats horse? smh
ОтветитьYea i would eat it
ОтветитьGrowing up l was very picky about what I ate. When I was in the army I got stationed in Korea and I made a decision to try everything I could and I still do. There is some amazing foods out there if you're willing to try it.
ОтветитьIve had horse and dog my buddy os korean and he is allowed to get so many pounds of dog meat from his family that raises meat dogs in korea. Now i didnt know it was dog until after i ate it but it honestly wasnt bad at all.
ОтветитьI really appreciate your videos!! However with that said, i would never ever eat horses! I have 2 of them and love horses!! I couldn't stomach doing that. 😮😮😮
Ответить10 million French folks can’t be wrong. Horse, the other brown meat. I’m okay with horse just like elk, moose, antelope etc. my wife grew up across the street from “hamburger Harry”. He got into trouble for serving horse in a burger joint he owned back in the 50’s. Everyone ate there until they found out. And they said he had great burgers. So how many times did we eat it and not know?
ОтветитьThe reason why the Americans don't eat horse meat can be explained by going back to colonial days. The English banned eating horse meat centuries ago in the UK. That tradition was passed down to the early Americans. Had we been colonized by the French instead of the British, we'd not only be speaking French instead of English. We'd be eating horse as well, since French eat horse even today .
ОтветитьGamey taste comes from what the animal eats. Deer taste gamey from eating acorns mostly. Deer usually taste less gamey when they feed on grass and corn. Horse eat oats and hay. Basically the same thing cows eat. So, that's why they have no gamey taste. I worked with a guy who hunted a lot. He'd make chili sometime and give me some. Tasted great. Made it with deer meat. You couldnt tell. He'd marinate the heck out of the meat in Italian salad dressing. That would take care of most of the gaminess. The chili powder and other seasonings would take care of the rest during cooking.
ОтветитьApparently people in France and other countries in Europe have been eating horse meat for years! And I can't see any problem
Ответить“Looks no different than a a pot roast.”
I don’t know how you’re making pot roast but I’ve never had a pot roast that looked anything like that.
